For instance, two people with the same disease might respond differently to the same treatment. This is because of variations in their genes and metabolic systems. Using genomic sequencing, doctors are now able to analyse a patient’s DNA and recommend drugs that are most likely to work for them. One of the first successes in this field was in cancer therapy, where targeted drugs were used based on the genetic mutations present in a tumour.

C.Artificial intelligence (AI) is another transformative force in medicine. Algorithms can now scan thousands of medical images in seconds, identifying patterns that even experienced radiologists might miss. AI is also used to predict outbreaks, analyse symptoms through digital health apps, and even suggest possible diagnoses. Although still in early stages, AI’s potential in diagnostics and early intervention is being explored globally.

D.Beyond AI and genetics, wearable technologies like smartwatches and health trackers are contributing valuable real-time data to healthcare professionals. These devices monitor heart rate, oxygen levels, sleep cycles, and more. In some cases, they can detect abnormalities before a person even feels unwell. Doctors can remotely access this information, allowing for timely interventions and monitoring chronic conditions without frequent hospital visits.

E.Another development is regenerative medicine, particularly the use of stem cells to repair or replace damaged tissues and organs. Unlike traditional organ transplants, which rely on donors, stem cell therapies offer a renewable source of replacement cells. In clinical trials, stem cells have shown promise in treating spinal cord injuries, type 1 diabetes, and even heart diseases.

F.Despite its benefits, future medicine faces ethical and practical challenges.
