IELTS Exam Fees for Cancellation

If you are required to cancel the IELTS appointment due to unavoidable circumstances, you will receive a refund after a deduction of 25% administration IELTS fee. The computer-delivered IELTS needs to be canceled three weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. The paper-based IELTS test needs to be canceled five weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. Refund of IELTS exam fee will be received in two ways:

  • If you paid the IELTS test fee online, you will receive a refund in the respective bank account used for making the online payment
  • If you had paid via ICICI bank, you will receive the refund via NEFT

If you are opting for cancellation of the exam within the five weeks in IDP, you can receive a refund for IELTS test charges if there are any of the following reasons:

  • Critical illness: Admitted to hospital/serious injury
  • Loss of Death: death of a close member of the family
  • Trauma: victim of an accident or crime
  • Military Service

For IELTS UKVI, all applications for cancellation and refund must be sent to the Centre using the IELTS test date Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form along with the original receipt of payment of the test fee.

  • An administrative charge of Rs. 4,300 will be applicable in such a case.
  • If the application for cancellation is received 9 days before the test date, the balance of IELTS test fees of Rs. 12,900 will be refunded within 10 - 12 working days from the date of application.
  • Requests received less than 9 days before the test date will not be accepted, and no refund will be given to the candidate.

For IELTS One Skill Retake, the application can be cancelled 72 hours or more before the test starts time under the following conditions:

  • Serious medical conditions may prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day; such conditions require supporting evidence of a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner.
  • Evidence of bereavement, trauma, or other forms of significant hardship.
  • Military service.

If you wish to change the IELTS test date, you must select a new date that is no more than three months away from the original exam date. Only one IELTS test date change or postponement is permitted per candidate. You will be asked to pay an administrative fee of INR 3,312 for changing the test dates, in addition to the IELTS rescheduling price.

IELTS Exam Fee for Additional Test Report Form

You can request for additional IELTS TRF to be sent to their selected universities. To send additional Test Report Forms (TRFs) of IELTS exam results, you will be required to pay an extra fee. You need to submit an online application by visiting your login section at www.ieltsidpindia.com. For any additional score reporting, fees of INR 300 - per university are required. You can only apply for online score reporting to a maximum of 5 universities in a day. The additional IELTS TRFs can be delivered in either one of the three ways:

  • First 5 electronic ATRF reports → Free of charge.

  • Each additional university beyond 5 → ₹300 per university.

  • Daily limit → Maximum 5 universities per day.

  • To add more institutions → Revisit candidate login after 24 hours.

  • International Courier: This has additional IELTS fees of INR 1500 per address. The time taken for the score to reach the university is approximately 4 days. A tracking number is provided.
  • By Airmail: This has an IELTS fee of INR 3050 per address. The time taken is approximately two weeks. No tracking number is provided.
  • Electronic: Only universities/colleges who have opted for electronic download of scores will receive the IELTS score. It costs INR 250 per university.

There are three ways to pay IELTS registration fees: Online payment, demand draft, and bank deposit. Candidates need to note that payment by cash or card is not accepted at any of the British Council offices. The IELTS test fee can be paid by using the following modes:

Yes, you need to pay an administrative charge of INR 3,300 inclusive of all taxes for the transfer of the test date. You can request a test day transfer at least five weeks before your already booked test date after deducting your cancellation/ postponement fee. Also, make sure the new test date must be within three months of the original test date.
