IELTS Exam Fees - Mode of Payment

There are three ways of paying IELTS registration fees: Online payment, Demand Draft, and Bank Deposit. Candidates need to note that payment by cash or card is not accepted at any of the British Council offices. Below are the detailed methods of IELTS fee payment:

Online Payment

Candidates can pay their IELTS fees through net banking, e-wallets, or cards like Visa, Visa Electron, or Mastercard.

Bank Deposit

For paying IELTS test fees of IDP, candidates can deposit the cash in either ICICI or Allahabad bank branches. Along with the cash, they need to submit a customized deposit slip that can either be obtained from IDP’s official website or from any IDP IELTS bank branch/referral partner. Candidates need to attach the authentic customer copy with that of the IELTS application form. To pay the IELTS exam fee of the British Council, candidates need to follow a similar method and deposit the cash in the ICICI bank branch.

Demand Draft

The IELTS computer-based or paper-based test cost may also be paid by demand draft, another available payment option. The demand draft must be drawn in favor of "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi from the approved banks" by the candidates. On the official IELTS IDP website, under the Terms and Conditions documents, candidates must also review the list of approved banks.

IELTS Cancellation Fee

Candidates may be required to cancel the IELTS appointment due to unavoidable circumstances. In that case, candidates will be receiving a refund after a deduction of 25% administration fee of the IELTS fees. The computer-delivered IELTS needs to be canceled three weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. The paper-based IELTS test needs to be canceled five weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. Refund of IELTS exam fee will be received in two ways:

• Candidates who paid their IELTS test fee online will receive the refund in the respective bank account used for making the online payment
• Candidates who paid via ICICI bank will receive the refund via NEFT

Candidates opting for cancellation of the exam within the five-week period in IDP can receive a refund if there are any of the following reasons:

• Critical illness: Admitted in hospital/serious injury
• Loss of Death: death of a close member of the family
• Trauma: victim of an accident or crime
• Military Service

IELTS Rescheduling Fee

Candidates wanting to change the exam date must submit their request five weeks prior to the original test date. Additionally, candidates must pay a cancellation fee of 25% of the administrative price. Candidates who wish to change the IELTS test date must select a new date that is no more than three months away from the original exam date. Only one IELTS test date change or postponement is permitted per candidate. Candidates will be asked to pay an administrative fee of INR 3,312 for changing the test dates, in addition to the IELTS rescheduling price. Candidates who are changing test dates should make sure they have prepared thoroughly for the IELTS exam.

IELTS Rechecking Fees

Candidates may request rechecking if they are not satisfied with their IELTS General, Academic, Computer Based, or UKVI test results. If you want to recheck your score, you need to fill out an EOR (Enquiry on Results) form. IELTS exam fee for rechecking in India is INR 12,750. Candidates will receive a full refund of the rechecking IELTS score reporting fee if the score is changed to a higher score.

IELTS Exam Fee for Additional TRF

Candidates can request for additional IELTS TRF to be sent to their selected universities. To send additional Test Report Forms (TRFs) of IELTS exam results will be required to pay an extra fee. You need to submit an online application by visiting your login section at www.ieltsidpindia.com. For any additional score reporting, fees of INR 250 - per university are required. You can only apply for online score reporting to a maximum of 5 universities in a dayThe additional IELTS TRFs can be delivered in either one of the three ways:

• International Courier: This has additional IELTS fees of INR 1500 per address. The time taken for the score to reach the university is approximately 4 days. A tracking number is provided.
• By Airmail: This has an IELTS fee of INR 250 per address. The time taken is approximately two weeks. No tracking number is provided.
• Electronic: Only universities/colleges who have opted for electronic download of scores will receive the IELTS score. It costs INR 250 per university.
