IELTS Exam Fees: Cancellation Fee, Rescheduling Fee, Rechecking Fee, and Additional TRF Fee

The IELTS exam fee in India is INR 18,000. Indian candidates are required to pay an IELTS exam fee of INR 18,000 as part of the registration process. The cost of IELTS exam for both paper-based and computer-delivered tests will be the same as INR 18,000.

IELTS examination fee can be paid through net banking or credit/debit cards. Candidates need to fill out the ICICI and HDFC Bank forms for offline payment. To reschedule or cancel, you need to pay an additional exam fee IELTS. You will receive a confirmation on the registered email or phone number after the payment.

IELTS Exam Fees 2025

Registration fees

IELTS registration fees are the ones that you need to pay at the time of registering for IELTS. This IELTS application fee has to be paid every time you want to retake the IELTS test.

IELTS Exam Fees for Cancellation

If you are required to cancel the IELTS appointment due to unavoidable circumstances, you will receive a refund after a deduction of 25% administration IELTS fee. The computer-delivered IELTS needs to be canceled three weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. The paper-based IELTS test needs to be canceled five weeks prior to the IELTS exam date. Refund of IELTS exam fee will be received in two ways:

• If you paid the IELTS test fee online, you will receive a refund in the respective bank account used for making the online payment
• If you had paid via ICICI bank, you will receive the refund via NEFT

If you are opting for cancellation of the exam within the five weeks in IDP, you can receive a refund for IELTS test charges if there are any of the following reasons:

• Critical illness: Admitted to hospital/serious injury
• Loss of Death: death of a close member of the family
• Trauma: victim of an accident or crime
• Military Service

For IELTS UKVI, all applications for cancellation and refund must be sent to the Centre using the IELTS test date Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form along with the original receipt of payment of the test fee.

• An administrative charge of Rs. 4,300 will be applicable in such a case.
• If the application for cancellation is received 9 days before the test date, the balance of IELTS test fees of Rs. 12,900 will be refunded within 10 - 12 working days from the date of application.
• Requests received less than 9 days before the test date will not be accepted, and no refund will be given to the candidate.

For IELTS One Skill Retake, the application can be cancelled 72 hours or more before the test starts time under the following conditions:

• Serious medical conditions may prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day; such conditions require supporting evidence of a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner.
• Evidence of bereavement, trauma, or other forms of significant hardship.
• Military service.

IELTS Examination Fee for Rescheduling

If you wish to change the IELTS test date, you must select a new date that is no more than three months away from the original exam date. Only one IELTS test date change or postponement is permitted per candidate. You will be asked to pay an administrative fee of INR 3,312 for changing the test dates, in addition to the IELTS rescheduling price.

IELTS Exam Fee for Rechecking

If you want to recheck your score, you need to fill out an EOR (Enquiry on Results) form. The IELTS exam fee for rechecking in India is INR 12,750. You will receive a full refund of the rechecking IELTS score reporting fee if the score is changed to a higher score.

IELTS Exam Fee for Additional Test Report Form

You can request for additional IELTS TRF to be sent to their selected universities. To send additional Test Report Forms (TRFs) of IELTS exam results, you will be required to pay an extra fee. You need to submit an online application by visiting your login section at www.ieltsidpindia.com. For any additional score reporting, fees of INR 300 - per university are required. You can only apply for online score reporting to a maximum of 5 universities in a day. The additional IELTS TRFs can be delivered in either one of the three ways:

• First 5 electronic ATRF reports → Free of charge.

• Each additional university beyond 5 → ₹300 per university.

• Daily limit → Maximum 5 universities per day.

• To add more institutions → Revisit candidate login after 24 hours.

• International Courier: This has additional IELTS fees of INR 1500 per address. The time taken for the score to reach the university is approximately 4 days. A tracking number is provided.
• By Airmail: This has an IELTS fee of INR 3050 per address. The time taken is approximately two weeks. No tracking number is provided.
• Electronic: Only universities/colleges who have opted for electronic download of scores will receive the IELTS score. It costs INR 250 per university.

Cost Of Sending IELTS Scores to Universities

After paying the IELTS exam fees and attending the exam, there is one more cost that you need to consider. Based on your score, you can choose universities to send the former.

IELTS Test Fee Payment Method

There are three ways to pay IELTS registration fees: Online payment, demand draft, and bank deposit. Candidates need to note that payment by cash or card is not accepted at any of the British Council offices. The IELTS test fee can be paid by using the following modes:

• Credit/ Debit (Visa or Master) and Netbanking
• Demand Draft—Please ensure that the demand draft is drawn in favor of "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi" and is made from the list of approved banks. The list is in the Terms & Conditions document here.
• Bank deposit—Alternatively, candidates can deposit cash in ICICI/HDFC bank branches through a customized deposit slip that can be downloaded from the IELTS IDP India website or obtained from the nearest IELTS IDP branch office/ referral partner. A copy of the original customer deposit slip must be attached to the IELTS application form.
