The Table and Bar Graph shown in the above image indicate the average time spent on household activities and leisure by men and women in the United Kingdom. Let’s Discuss both of them in detail -
Leisure Activities - Men spend more time on Television, Watching Videos and Radio (around 137 minutes per day) than women (118 minutes per day). A similar trend is also seen in Reading and Sports activities, where men spend around 18 minutes on Reading activity and 15 minutes on Sports activity, whereas women spend slightly more time on Reading activity (around 19 minutes) but the women don’t engage in sports activities as they spend around 11 minutes per day as per the table shown above.
Household Activities - Women spend substantially more time on household activities. They spend about 75 minutes per day on Cooking and Washing Clothes, whereas men spend only 30 minutes per day. Similarly, Women also spend more time Washing and Ironing Clothes (about 25 minutes per day), while men spend inconsequential time (around 10 minutes per day).
However, men lead in maintenance work, where they spend about 15 minutes per day compared to the negligible contribution of women (around 10 minutes per day). A more balanced distribution is observed in Shopping, where women in the United Kingdom spend slightly more time.

The table shown above indicates that men spend more time on Leisure Activities like Watching Television, Videos, and Listening Radio, averaging 137 minutes per day while women spend more time on Reading activities which is around 118 minutes per day. Although, both men and women spend nearly equal time on reading activities with women slightly ahead in this activity (around 19 minutes per day) while men spend their time on this activity for 18 minutes per day. In sports activity, men spend 15 minutes per day whereas women spend around 11 minutes per day on this activity.
The bar graph shown in the above image primarily highlights the dissimilarities in household activities. Women spend substantially more time (about 75 minutes per day) in Cooking and Washing Clothes than men (about 30 minutes per day). Similarly, women spend more time Washing and Ironing Clothes, whereas men spend negligible time on this task (around 10 minutes per day).
In Shopping, women again spend about 35 minutes per day while men spend not more than 20 minutes. However, men spend more time in Repair Work, which is about 20 minutes per day, while women’s participation is almost negligible in this task (around 10 minutes per day).

In Sports activity, men spend 15 minutes per day on this activity, whereas women spend almost 10 minutes per day on sports activities as per the data provided in the table.
The bar chart indicates that women spend significantly more time on Household Activities like Cooking and Washing Dishes (around 70 minutes per day, while it is about 30 minutes for men) and Washing and Ironing Clothes, whereas men spend negligible time on these activities as compared to women.
However, men spend more time on Repair Activities (which is about 20 minutes per day while women spend only 10 minutes per day). Time spent on Shopping tasks is somewhat equal with women spending more time as compared to men (around 30 minutes per day).
