The bar chart indicates the frequency of eating at fast-food restaurants by people in the United States in the years 2003, 2006, and 2013. The given data is categorized into six categories — “Every Day”, “Several Times a Week”, “Once A Week”, “Once or Twice A Month”, “A Few Times A Year” and “Never”.

In 2003 and 2013, the most common visits to fast-food restaurants were “Once A Week” and “Once or Twice a Month”. In 2006, “Once A Week” had the highest share, at around 35%. Apart from this, “Every Day” and “Never” were constantly the least common habits, remaining below around 5% throughout the years.

During the past decades, the overall share of people dining out at fast-food restaurants “Once or Twice a Month” increased from about 30% in 2003 to about 33% in 2013, whereas the overall number of people eating out at the fast-food restaurants “Once a Week” has decreased slightly in 2013. Those people who are dining out at fast-food restaurants “Several Times a Week” also experienced a gradual decline from 2006 to 2013.

Overall, moderate eating patterns at fast food restaurants (“Once a Week” or “Once or Twice a Month”) were most common, whereas daily and occasional visits to the restaurants were quite uncommon.

The data shown in the bar graph is classified into six different groups namely — “Every Day”, “Several Times a Week”, “Once a Week”, “Once or Twice a Month”, “A Few Times a Year” and “Never”.

In all three years, eating at fast-food restaurants “Once a Week” and “Once or Twice a Month” was the most common habit. In 2006, around 33% of people in the United States consumed fast food “Once a Week”, which is the highest percentage recorded for any category shown on the bar graph. Just like that, the rate of consuming food at fast food restaurants “Once or Twice a Month” also peaked at around 33% in 2013.

Between 2003 and 2013, there was a notable shift from weekly to monthly consumption of fast food at fast food restaurants in the United States. In contrast, the overall proportion of people eating fast food “Several Times a Week” declined slightly throughout the decade, indicating a gradual decline in overall visits to fast-food restaurants in the United States.

Overall, the most common habits throughout the years were “Once a Week” and “Once or Twice a Month”, whereas “Every Day” and “Never” were the least common habits for dining out at fast food restaurants in the United States of America. There was little change in the patterns over the decades, showcasing some changes in eating habits and no visits to fast food restaurants.

In 2003, around 31% of people visited fast-food restaurants “Once a Week” which is slightly more than the number of people who visited fast-food restaurants in the same year “Once or Twice a Month”, which was around 30%. By 2006, the overall proportion of weekly visits to the fast food restaurants had crossed around 33%, while the number of those who went to the fast-food restaurants “Once or Twice a Month” declined marginally to around 25%.

In 2013, this trend reversed, with “Once or Twice a Month” becoming the most common habit (around 33%), overtaking the overall number of 28% who dined at fast-food restaurants “Once a Week” in the United States. The overall percentage of those people who dined at the fast-food restaurants “Every Day” and “Never” remained pretty low throughout the years (less than 5%), showcasing persistent minority behavior.
