The United States of America (USA) normally has the highest per capita meat consumption, starting at around 90 grams in 1985 and increasing gradually to nearly 130 grams by 2019. A similar pattern was observed in the United Kingdom, where per capita meat consumption started at approximately 90 grams in 1985 and progressively increased to 120 grams by 2019.
Brazil and India showed different trends in per capita meat consumption in the above line chart. Brazilian consumption of meat started increasing from about 60 grams in 1985 to above 110 grams by 2019. In comparison with these countries, India had the lowest level of per capita meat consumption, starting at about 19 grams in 1985 and rising to around 40 grams by 2019.
Overall, the United States of America and the United Kingdom constantly consumed more meat than Brazil and India, with Brazil experiencing a gradual growth while India’s meat consumption remained stable enough.

In Brazil, the per capita meat consumption in 1985 was comparatively lower at around 60 grams, while per capita meat consumption was lowest in India at less than around 20 grams.
Over the next decades, the United States of America (USA) per capita meat consumption remained stable enough with little bit of fluctuations. The United Kingdom's (UK) per capita meat consumption experienced a gradual decline until the year 2005, then stabilized at around 90 grams by 2019. Brazil’s per capita meat consumption substantially increased, increasing from 60 grams to around 120 grams by 2019, showcasing a significant growth in meat consumption.
However, India remained at the lowest level throughout this period, with a marginal growth, which is less than 40 grams per capita in 2019. In short, the United States of America (USA) had the highest and most stable per capita meat consumption among these countries whereas India continued to have the lowest per capita meat consumption.
