The bar chart shown in the above image highlights the number of heat-related illnesses per 100,000 sporting events among high school students in the Central US States. The line graph shows the average yearly temperature for one such state in the United States.

Heat-related illnesses are the most frequent in August, where around 70 cases are reported, which is substantially higher than in other months. September and October record a slight increase in the cases, reaching around 10 and 8 cases respectively, while other months record negligible or no cases, as shown in the bar graph.

The temperature graph also showcases clear seasonal fluctuations, with the heat being at its highest point during the summer months (June to August). The average maximum temperature in July and August reaches around 90°F, while the minimum temperature is around 70°F. In contrast with that, the average minimum temperature in the winter months is around 10°F and the maximum temperature is around 30°F.

The interrelationship between both graphs showcases that higher temperatures during summer coincide with rapid growth in heat-related illnesses, highlighting the dangers of outdoor activities during intense heat in summer.

Temperatures rise steadily from January to July and then gradually fall till December.
