New Delhi: The Quacquarelli Symonds has announced the release of the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Notably, two prominent Indian institutions, IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, have been ranked in the top 50 list.
IIT Bombay has achieved the highest position in India and secured the 40th rank across Asia. Similarly, IIT Delhi has secured the second position among Indian institutes, achieving an overall rank of 46th. Also Read: Top 100 Universities in the World 2024 as per QS and Times Higher Education

The Peking University of China claimed the top spot in the Asia ranking, followed by the University of Hong Kong in second place, and the National University of Singapore in the third place. Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Tsinghua University, China, secured the 4th spot.
Zhejiang University of China secured 6th place, while Fudan University of China landed in 7th. Yonsei University of South Korea secured 8th place, and Korea University was positioned at 9th. The Chinese University of Hong Kong secured the 10th position. The QS Asia University Rankings for this year include 856 universities across Asia.
This year's QS Asia University Rankings offer sub-regional breakdowns for Central, Eastern, South Eastern, and Southern Asia.
The methodology used to develop the ranking is similar to that used for the QS World University Rankings, but with some other indicators and adjusted weightings, as mentioned on the official website.
The 11 criteria used to determine the QS Asia University Rankings includes elements such as Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Faculty/student ratio, International research network, Citations per paper and papers per faculty, Staff with a PhD, Proportion of international faculty and students, and the Percentage of inbound and outbound exchange students.
