JMI Launches Self-Financed BTech, MTech Programs; Admission via JEE Mains
New Delhi: The Engineering and Technology Department at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is starting new BTech and MTech programs for the 2024-25 academic year. These programs aim to offer students advanced education and specialised skills to meet the changing requirements of the industry.
The new courses include BTech in Electrical and Computer Engineering, BTech in Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology), BTech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Sciences), and MTech in Data Sciences.
Admission to BTech courses will be done based on the candidates' rankings in the JEE Main. The self-financed programs have an annual fee of INR 1,50,000 for BTech and INR 54,000 for MTech.
Mini Thomas, the dean of the engineering faculty at JMI, highlighted that these new BTech courses reflect their commitment to providing up-to-date education aligned with industry needs. They aim to prepare students for success in the rapidly changing technological landscape by incorporating emerging technologies into the curriculum. The following are the various BTech and MTech programs offered by JMI.
BTech in Electrical and Computer Engineering
The course aims to produce skilled engineers capable of enhancing the security and robustness of computing systems, with a focus on communication networks. Additionally, the program aims to improve the effectiveness of cyber-physical systems, such as smart grids, autonomous mobile systems, and industrial control systems.
JMI BTech in Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology)
The course is aimed to educate students in this crucial field, equipping them to create innovative nanoelectronics devices and chips within India. The curriculum will align with the needs of the IC and chip design industries, matching the standards of esteemed institutions both in India and internationally.
JMI BTech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science)
The program provides students with a curriculum that includes essential subjects like programming languages, algorithms, database systems, data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
JMI MTech in Data Sciences
This postgraduate course concentrates on advanced studies in Data Sciences, integrating aspects of computer science, statistics, and domain-specific expertise to derive insights and knowledge from data.
