HP Technical University Launches Dual Degree Programs Following NEP 2020 Norms
New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) has taken a significant step according to the National Education Policy of 2020 by approving the implementation of dual degree programs. This development, sanctioned during the 33rd meeting of the academic council chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shashi Kumar Dhiman, marks a noteworthy enhancement in educational opportunities for students in HPTU Affiliated Colleges.
HPTU dual degree programs include BTech-MTech and BBA-MBA Integrated Courses. This initiative allows students to pursue a comprehensive educational journey, acquiring both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within a streamlined framework.
A spokesperson from the university officially confirmed this decision, reflecting the collaborative effort of the academic council to embrace progressive educational models. The move is expected to diversify educational trajectories, offering students a more integrated and enriched learning experience.
Furthermore, Himachal Pradesh Technical University is set to launch PhD programs in various engineering colleges to bolster research endeavors in the engineering domain. In line with this, the academic council has taken proactive measures by establishing a committee to formulate rules to guide the implementation of PhD programs. The nod from the academic council also extends to establishing research centers at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Sundernagar, and Hydro Engineering College, Bilaspur.
