Your Friend Had Made For You To See A Movie Together IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are required to address their friends informally. Topic: Your friend had made a plan for you to see a movie together but you cannot join him/her. You’ve found another friend who can go instead of you. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:

• Explain why you cannot go anymore
• Say who can go instead of you
• Say why this person is a good person to go with

Dear Morgan,

Hi, How are you, Morgan? We have planned to watch a very nice movie tomorrow. I feel the plan may not work out. I am writing this letter to inform you that unfortunately, we will have to drop the plan. It has become urgent for me to attend a very important meeting tomorrow. That's why I may not be able to join for the purpose of watching a movie. After a long gap, I have got a very worthwhile client in Germany. I will have to prepare and present some presentations to the client tomorrow. I will have to vigorously involve myself in making the project. Though I was eagerly excited and waited to watch the movie with you after a long time, it is very sad that I am missing that opportunity.

I suggest you not go alone to the movie. You can go with Mr Robert tomorrow. he is free all these days. I hope he will be a suitable company because of the equation you have with him at the last function. He is friendly and cooperative. I hope that you will enjoy his company.

If you will be free, we can watch Jurassic World next week. It is an American science fiction action movie. It is said to be the fourth instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise. And it is the first in the Jurassic World trilogy series. It is directed by Colin Trevorrow. It is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley. It stars good actors like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, etc. It is said that Jurassic World takes place on the same fictional island of Isla Nublar, as Jurassic Park.

Jurassic World was originally released in the United States in 2015. It received many positive reviews from critics and grossed much at the box office. The other two sequels are Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022). I would like to watch this great movie with you once I get free of all my tasks.

I am very sorry for not being able to give my company, but I promise I shall make it up to you.

I hope this letter finds you with flying colours. I am very happy to know that you have written your online exam and performed well. By the way, I am writing this apology letter to tell you that there are changes in our entertainment plans for watching a movie together. You can watch “No Time to Die” with Oliver. He will be free for all these days at home. And he would be good company for you. Mr Oliver is hugely into the James Bond movies, He has also told me that he would definitely love to watch the new film. He couldn’t purchase a ticket due to the high demand for the movie online. I am very sorry for being unable to watch the movie “No Time to Die” with you this weekend. My boss has told me to visit Malaysia for a work function for a week, and I will leave my home this Sunday. I would definitely like to watch another movie after my return is “Spider-Man; No Way Home.” That would be a better choice for us.

As you know Spider-Man: No Way Home is a 2021 American superhero film. The film is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It is greatly co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. It is a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and also Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). The film was directed by Jon Watts and co-written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man. The other actors are Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jacob Batalon.

I am pretty sure that we both can both watch this movie after a fortnight. Yet, I am very sorry for not being able to give my company for the first movie, but I promise I shall make it up to you.

Please tell me your plans and opinions at the earliest opportunity, today or tomorrow. I am awaiting your reply.

Hope you find this letter in a wholesome mood. I am sorry to say something different. I am writing this letter to you to apologise that our plan to watch a new movie, Mimamsa, together will not see the light of the day. I can understand that you will be disappointed to know that. The strong reason behind this abrupt change is that I will have to travel to Japan as my boss is also going to attend a business seminar.

One glad thing is that I met Babu in the morning. He has just finished his final semester exams. He is looking for a company to watch some movies. He is planning to watch the same movie that we planned this Sunday. I would suggest he join you for the same. This funny guy will be good company for you. I hope you will enjoy his company. I will also ask him to contact you soon.

After my trip, we could plan for some other movie. I would like to watch KGF: Chapter 2. K.G.F: Chapter 2 is a 2022 Kannada action movie written and directed by Prashanth Neel. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the famous banner Hombale Films. This movie is a sequel to the 2018 popular film K.G.F: Chapter 1. The film stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj. The sequel follows Rocky, the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). It is to retain his supremacy over adversaries. It is said that the film is the most expensive Kannada film ever made. The film is superb with cinematography

I am very sure that we both can watch KGF: Chapter 2 after the fortnight when I return from my foreign tour. Still, I am very sorry for not being able to give my company for the first movie, Mimamsa, but I shall promise I will make it up to you.
