Your friend delivered a baby girl IELTS Writing task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are asked to write an informal letter in this IELTS Writing task. Dear Lexi,

Hope everything is going well for you and the baby. My mother gave me the news of your baby, I can't believe I'm already an aunt! You have given birth to a cute baby girl, and I feel like the luckiest person on earth. Congratulations, and please know that you both have my love and blessing. I'm sorry I have to be so far away. Actually, I travelled to Tokyo last Monday to take part in a business meeting. I'll stay here for about a week finishing all my work before I head back to Manhattan on October 27. As soon as I arrive, I want to visit you and your baby. Most likely, I'll stop by your house first before returning to my apartment. If there is anything I can bring for you, don't be afraid to text or phone me. I'll go shopping for the baby, and any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am eagerly waiting to see you both. I haven't heard such exhilarating news in years. Once more, I send you all my warmest wishes. Please be careful to look after both yourself and the baby. I can't wait to meet you.

I hope that having a little princess as a blessing is giving you a great time right now. I'm overjoyed to hear this news from your spouse, and I really wanted to visit you two in person. You truly can't even begin to comprehend how happy I am despite having a busy work schedule because this is the best news I have received in recent months. My wife was quite eager to see you when I told her right away. As I told you earlier, the task that was allocated consumes a maximum of my daily time, thus it is imperative that I finish it within the allotted time. When we finish this work in the following two days, we will depart our city and come to see you. You may be aware that I'm not particularly adept at choosing gifts, especially for babies, so my wife purchased a baby care package that includes necessities. Such as baby soap, a soft towel, and—most importantly—a swinging baby cradle. We anticipate that your little princess will adore the gifts we selected for her. And don't worry; I'm bringing your favourite chocolate, Ferrero Rocher, from my hometown as you have persistently requested.
