You Would Like To Visit An Old Friend Who Lives In Another Country IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter-writing topic. The given situation is to write a letter to an old friend, this is an informal letter-writing task. Given below are three model answers that can be used as guidelines on how to complete this task. Hello John,
Hope you are doing well. It's been so long since we last met as you moved to Paris. I miss you a lot and I hope to meet you again. It’s been 5 years and my life has changed a lot. Now I’m working as a professor in Oxford University. I have been working on a term paper which is going to be revealed at a conference. That conference is likely to be held in Paris. Exact conference hall is still unknown, the conference committee is working on it. I would like to share the thesis paper with you first. It would be my first international conference. I'm nervous. But if you will be there, then everything will be okay.
The conference will be held on 15 October. I will reach there by 12. I will Stay for 3 days and just after attending the conference, there is a plan to return. So I would like to meet you during this stay. I know you usually stay busy on weekdays. But the weekend is free for you. I would like to meet on weekends. Please send me your current address. Really, I’m very excited to meet you. I will inform you of the exact place and time of the conference. Hope, I will meet you before the conference and also in the conference. Stay healthy my friend, I’m coming to meet you after so many years.

My classes will be starting on 2nd of August. I have to reach there by 25th of July. There are lots of things to do after going there. I would like to ask you for help. I need accommodation there. So quitting my high paying job, I finally became a freelance photographer. I did some projects which were very appreciated by my client. So it’s time to go to Japan, for the same reason.
I would like to meet you on weekends. I will stay there for 2 days. Furthermore, I know you haven't married yet, so without any hesitation I would like to request you to give me shelter for these two days. Not only that, but I will reach there by Friday, will go on an outing for On Sunday, we will chill together all day and at night I have a flight. It’s my plan until now. I’m still working on the exact dates, but sure about the days.
