You Recently Visited a Tourist Attraction and You Were Very Pleased IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter follows a formal approach. The candidate has to address the letter to the head of the staff of the tourist place they recently visited. Candidates are required to mention the circumstances of their visit, the help and service given to you by the staff and what you want the head staff to do. It contains three model answers that have three paragraphs namely the introduction, body, and conclusion. The letter must be clear and to the point.

IELTS General Writing Task 1 includes letter writing. It might be in formal, informal, or semi-formal patterns. Candidates need to complete the task within 20 minutes. Topic: You recently visited a tourist attraction and you were very pleased with the help given to you by the staff. Write a letter to the head of staff at the tourist attraction.

In your letter, You should say;

  • give details of the circumstances of your visit
  • describe the help given to you by the staff
  • say what you want the head staff to do

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Madam,

I recently used your service for the tour and went to the well-known Vinevasi Waterfall after learning about it from a friend. I want to express my appreciation for the great service I received from you. When I suddenly had to fly to Kuala Lumpur for a business trip, I decided to visit the waterfall even though I had not really planned to. It was then that I remembered what my friend had told me about your tourist attraction.

So, when my workday was over, I made the decision to spend a few days at your lovely tourist destination. However, once I got there, I began to wonder why I hadn't booked a longer stay because everyone on your staff was so polite and welcoming. Along with making sure I was comfortable at the hotel and on the tour bus, they also made sure my possessions were stored in the proper location. They brought me to the best restaurant in the area and gave me a wealth of information about its history. I want to say thank you. Please make sure to wish your staff well, as well. After speaking with a few staff members, I would like to mention that I felt they did not get enough time off from their jobs. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you made an effort to address that problem so that they feel even more valued for the work they do.

Band 7.5 IELTS Letter

Hello Sir,

I am writing this letter to appreciate the amazing experience that me and my family had while staying in Darjeeling for 5 days. I must say that the staff in your hotel, The Hilltop, was extraordinary. They were the best servicemen and women I have seen in my life.

We landed in Darjeeling and were not sure which place to stay at. At first, I was skeptical about the hotels in the area. My friend suggested The Hilltop and right from the entrance, the experience was pleasing. The receptionist was very helpful in showing us our rooms. The luggage was carried to our rooms as my parents could not carry their own luggage. The support and the housekeeping staff always responded to our calls and looked after everything that we needed. There was running hot water the whole day. We were sent tea or coffee twice or thrice a day. My parents were very happy with the service that was provided. The cleaner came twice, once in the morning and once in the evening to clean our rooms. The kitchen staff was exceptionally cordial. Though we had to go to the dining room for lunch and dinner, they used to send food to our rooms for my parents. All the dishes were delicious. I was very pleased and happy with the service provided.

I would request you to pass on the feedback to the amazing staff. I am sure that they will feel good by receiving great feedback which they truly deserve.

Band 8 IELTS Letter

Hello Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that the staff at the Beach View resort in Goa was extremely good. Me and my family visited Goa for a week and we stayed at the hotel. All the departments were extremely good in customer service. The experience began from reception to the end of our stay. The receptionist was extremely cordial and empathetic.

We reached 2 hours before the check-in time but still she provided the rooms to us so that we could freshen up. After that, we were shifted to our rooms. This behavior touched my heart. The cleaning and the housekeeping staff knows how to take care of the customers. They cleaned our room twice a day. The bedsheets, pillow covers and the curtains were also changed. They also provided extra towels every time we used to go to the pools. We did not have to ask for anything. The kitchen staff was very well behaved. They provided the best service as the foods were delicious. I remember one day we were late. The food was over but the chef cooked for us especially. This type of service is extremely rare nowadays. I was very impressed with the behavior and will definitely visit again.

I would like you to convey this message to the staff members. I am sure that this appreciation will boost their morale. The star of the show was Andrew who was exceptional in his services.
