Letter to Friend for Selling Your Furniture IELTS Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter follows an informal approach. The candidates are required to address their friend in regard to selling some of your furniture. In the letter, mention why you are selling the furniture, describe the furniture and suggest a date when your friend can come and see the furniture. It contains three model answers that have three paragraphs namely the introduction, body, and conclusion. The letter must be clear and to the point.

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Olive,

How are you? I hope you are fine and leading a happy and healthy life. I received your letter yesterday. As you mentioned in your letter that you are planning to rent an apartment near Meerut. I am writing to you to inform you that I am planning to sell a few pieces of furniture that I have because I am planning to move out of this place. I am shifting to Pune.It will be difficult to carry the furniture along to Pune. As the distance is more and it might damage the furniture on the route.. So, I am selling a few of them.

You might well be fascinated in these when you are changing over here. The couch set, dining table, and recliners are items I intend to sell. These pieces of furniture are in excellent shape, and you'll love them. A few wooden works of art and empty picture frames are there. I hope you would like having these because you enjoy painting.

They also complement your style and energy. They have delicate, beautiful colors. Wood with carvings make up the dining table just how you want. like how you've always praised my couch. You'll adore the furnishings.

Band 7.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Ravi,

How are you? I hope you are doing fine. You mentioned in your letter that you are planning to move to an apartment near M.G. Road. I am writing to you to inform you that I am planning to sell a few pieces of furniture that I have because I am planning to move out of this place. I am planning to move to another city for some work reasons.

I won’t be able to carry them all the way to that city because taking them that far would most likely damage them. So, I thought that it would be a good idea to let you know about the furniture before I sell them, in case you would feel interested in buying them. The furniture I have includes a few chairs, a large dining table, and a couple of sofa chairs. I think that you would like the furniture since they seem to be in good shape and condition. Besides, the prices are also reasonable. So, please feel free to drop by my place, preferably sometime next weekend. So that you can have a look at my furniture and decide whether to purchase them or not.

Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Subhankar,

Hope you are doing great. I'm writing this letter as I’m moving to a new city. I have a few pieces of furniture that I want to sell. I thought you might be interested. I will move to a new city soon and my new apartment is not big enough to adjust all of my furniture. I thought you might be interested in buying some of the furniture I have planned to sell.

I have recently been transferred to Gorakhpur. It's great news for me because I have wished to live there for a long time. As the new flat is smaller than my current one and I will have to sell some of my furniture. More specifically, I want to sell my dining and sofa set. Last month, when you came to my house for some work, you were inquiring about the dining table and the sofa set and I thought you might want to have those. I have a large dining table including four chairs and a sofa set that was placed in my living room. I would rather sell the furniture to someone whom I know and I'm willing to offer a reasonable price. You can come home if you see the furniture again. If you feel that they are perfect for you, you can buy those. Don't worry about the price. Hope to hear from you soon.
