Write a Letter to Your Friend Overseas Inviting Them For A Party at Your Home IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter must be clear and to the point.

Dear Sophi,

This is Bhagyashree, I hope you remember me. Last month when I went to a club in Paris that is where we met. I got to know that you are in India right now. This is the reason I’m writing this letter to you. I want you to visit my place so that we can enjoy together like old days.

On August 29, I will celebrate my birthday with a party that starts at 6 o'clock in the evening at my house. It would be my pleasure if you could join me and my family for the evening.

You may easily travel to my house. All you have to do is board bus V1 headed for Jadavpur, then ask the conductor to drop you off at the station road. Wherever you need to get off, the bus will stop there. Please give me a call once you arrive. I'll come get you. My house is only three minutes from the bus stop.

The gathering will be small and exclusive. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to meet new people in India because I have invited a number of my friends. You won't have any trouble conversing with them because the majority of them speak English with ease. In addition, they are pretty laid back. I have no doubt you'll enjoy them.

The prospect of meeting you at my party excites me.
