I'm John Smith, and I've been a renter of yours for quite some time, and I've always paid my rent on time. This time, however, I respectfully beg that you allow me to pay the rent late for the month of November.

My extended sickness has put me in a financial bind. I was hospitalized for an unknown sickness and missed work for eighteen days in a row. My monthly income has significantly decreased as a result of my absence from the office. Furthermore, my finances have been depleted due to medical expenses. As a result, I'm running low on readies. I'm concerned I won't be able to pay the rent on time in November, and I'd want to know whether an extension is feasible. I am certain that I will be able to pay your rent by the 28th of this month. As a result, I would like to request that you enable me to pay the rent before the 28th of the month, rather than the 7th, as I typically do.
