Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sharma, 

I hope all is well with you. We don't know each other very well, which is unfortunate, and I want to apologise for that. In response to your letter of complaint regarding the noise coming from my apartment that you sent me yesterday, I am sending this letter. I respectfully beg your pardon and truly apologise for the inconvenience.

My wife and I chose to install a few smoke detectors in our apartment out of worry for our safety. Especially since we had witnessed a horrific fire in our neighbourhood. The devices were purchased from an online retailer, and we began installing and testing them last Sunday. We tested the equipment for around 30 minutes to make sure the fire alarm's sound was loud enough for everyone in the house to hear it. Despite the fact that the testing was conducted around noon on Sunday, my wife and I sincerely apologise for disturbing your child's nap.

I sincerely apologise for what happened and beg your pardon. As a sign of my sincere sorrow for the inconvenience, kindly accept this box of chocolate. Next time, we'll take extra precautions.

I am horrified to read from your letter that the noise coming from my apartment has been upsetting you, ruining your evening, and causing you distress. I sincerely regret doing that. I had no notion the loudness would bother you when it got to your apartment. Please accept my deepest apologies, and I promise to be more cautious moving forward.

As you might have predicted, when I get home from work each evening, I try to remodel my kitchen. I hired a company to remodel my home last Wednesday. All of my furniture had to be moved for the decorators to finish their work. Additionally, they employed some large equipment to finish their task. You have been hearing all of these loud reverberations because of this.

I am aware that I need to apologise to you because I am to blame for all of these hiccups and I should have told you sooner. Anyway, I'm sorry and I'll have to pay you back with a coffee. After this, I hope our friendship will still be intact.

I have immediately told the staff to lower the volume, thus your apartment should already be rather quiet. I'm hoping this will satisfy you enough. The work will be finished tomorrow, by the way.
