Write A Letter Expressing Your Interest To Volunteer IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter-writing topic. Candidates are required to address the Company on this topic in a formal tone. It contains three model answers that have three paragraphs namely the introduction, body, and conclusion. The letter must be clear and to the point.

IELTS General Writing Task 1 includes letter writing either in formal, informal, or semi-formal patterns. Candidates need to complete the task within 20 minutes. Topic: You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organises such trips.
In your letter:

• Explain why you want to do the voluntary work.
• State what your skills and experience are.
• Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Karan Singhania, from California. My summer vacations are coming closer and I am planning to spend these two months helping and contributing to our society. I am writing this letter to express my views and desire to volunteer as an English teacher in a developing country. I want to give a little brief about my skill and experience. I am a graduate of English literature and currently pursuing my masters in English. I already have work experience as an English teacher in INA Public school for seven years. Last year I even volunteered to teach the English language in the remote villages of Africa. After seeing your advertisement in MLY today, I’ve searched for the program online. I like to avail this opportunity to help others. I would like to volunteer in any of the countries that are required. Please, let me know if there is an opportunity available for me. I am available till June and July. Hence take me under consideration.

I will love to help people, particularly the one who needs it. So you want to volunteer for various charitable organizations. Volunteering is in our family. My father had volunteered in different NGOs until he expired in 2002. Regarding my skills and experience, I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry from London University. After my graduation, I worked as a lab assistant in a pharmacy. I have also been a part of voluntary groups that help people while their country is hit by any disaster. I remember that I went to Somalia to volunteer in 2016. I was there helping them for around six months until the situation was better. I have a keen interest in helping people, since my childhood I had the ambition to work for people. Considering my skills and experience, I have studied English literature at the University of Spain. I have teaching experience of two years in Istanbul and the UK. I would like to apply in the form of free English lessons to the young children and needy ones in Tanzania. I have decided I can provide English coaching in different cities in Tanzania as well. I would be grateful if you would consider my letter. I can also accompany you for cultural expeditions apart from English training. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
