Employers are always seeking ways to enhance their employees' productivity. Subsidizing healthy pursuits may be one way of achieving this. There are arguments on both sides, however, which we will discuss here. On one hand, it might be said that if workers are fitter and less stressed, their working time will be more efficient. Leading to higher levels of output and service. Furthermore, the work/life balance of the staff will hopefully be improved, because their leisure time will be more fulfilling. This may even be more motivating than pay increments, perks, or financial rewards such as bonuses or incentives which may be hard to attain. Finally, feeling healthier may lead to better job satisfaction which is in itself a motivating factor.

Conversely, the problem with such leisure-based subsidies is that their efficiency is virtually impossible to quantify. For example, with target-related payments, employers can at least see whether the objectives are reached or not. It may also be said that, if this budget was spent on (for instance) the job train or day release programs. The employees would achieve better career progression and have better job prospects. These matters are all easier to measure, especially in performance reviews and appraisals. These also help to reduce the risk of employees if the company restructures, downsized, or outsources its workforce.

Overall, it seems that, while health-related subsidies are superficially attractive, the lack of measurability is a substantial drawback. Spending funds on ongoing training would appear to be a better use of company or Human Resources budgets.

Model Answer 2

In an extremely competitive and contending world that we are residents of, especially in the terms of success and growth. It is obvious for people considering a successful career to be a synonym of a fulfilled life. On the contrary, one dynamic of life can’t define the wholesome purpose of it. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I shall be reflecting on the same.

Often people are found to assume materialistic things and subsets of life to be the only purpose of it, which is an extremely erroneous and flawed notion. An enriching job and the associated nuances of it for that matter is just one factor of a sound lifestyle. That can’t compensate and rule out the other aspects and aspirations of one’s life.

Social well being, physical fitness, emotional stability are a few of the broader categories of a conventionally presumed healthy lifestyle. In such a scenario, searching for money, as is observed, slowly ends one’s life, which together comes to a realization in the later stage of life.

People involved in altruism and philanthropy often consider themselves to be substantially content and satiated with their life. The wealthy households or individuals, successful in their career are often ostensibly pronounced to be thoroughly accomplished in all walks of life. Which might be true in some cases, are not necessarily happy in the core of their well-being. Suicides, depression, anxiety, etc. are some of the evidential nemeses of dissatisfaction that one might be going through. Although a good career, sound wealth, career aspirations, and growth are important. Encompassing life around a mono-subset is a shallow lecture and a failed ideology, and a snag for one’s wholesome journey. Conclusively, ordaining one’s life as unsuccessful and ignominious just by the definition of career curve is utterly wrong and unpragmatic.

Model Answer 3

We live in a world where the balance between work life and personal life is very important but not achieved by most people who believe in building a career. I have seen that people are opting for a career that will provide them with the basic necessity for living and also enjoy their time with friends and family. However, this is not the correct way to proceed with life as we need to grow and achieve higher goals in life. This is where the work-life balance comes into place. If you are choosing something which you do not like as work and career options. It will be tough for anyone to take the extra time out for the things that he or she likes. Hence, if you choose a work which you are interested in as a career option, you are bound to flourish. Choosing a career-building option is very important at the early stages because it will save a lot of time. Some people like to help other people and they are working with NGOs and government organizations. They have selected their career in their passion. They have devoted their life to charity, which they love. Some people build their career in art and they love to do that. Following your passion and doing what you like to do gives satisfaction and well-deserved success. This also provides a very genuine balance in work and life because it is a part of your life and who you are. Having said that, achieving success in any career is not easy. Hard work and dedication are required in all types of work, it is just that you start to love what you do for a living or not.
