With the development of media online, there is no future for radio. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Model Answer 1

For the longest time, we human beings have been accustomed to hearing radios for information. In most families, the first activity alongside having tea after waking up was turning on the radio for getting information as well as the day’s news. Radio broadcasting has held a huge role in imparting knowledge as well. But with the recent advent of an array of other forms of mass media. Most people believe that the demand for radio broadcasting will soon see a steep fall. But I personally believe that the demand for radio will never fall and for some obvious reasons.
Firstly, radio is found in almost every corner of the world as it is an age-old phenomenon. We often find old and antique radios in some houses. The present day’s radio stations are attached to cars, and a huge percentage of people drive cars on a daily basis. When driving, most people tend to feel bored or tired, and that is the instance when they play the radio. This is how there is already an immense use of radio across the world. Since there will be no reduction in the number of car users. In fact, there will be a boom when it comes to the number of people driving, the number of people using the radio will also increase.
Radio broadcasting is an extremely affordable way of acquiring information. A television set is sometimes a person’s one-month salary. And that makes a person cause a hole in their pockets when purchasing a TV set. But when it comes to buying a radio, it is quite inexpensive, and though it doesn’t give one a visual experience. It does provide all the necessary information. Weather forecasting, sports news, politics, cinema news, locality news. And so much more is provided by the radio station. In fact, radio has actually become a free-of-cost way of getting information. One will hear radio channels being played in a park or shop, or salon.

Model Answer 2

The topic throws light on the fact about how there has been a rise in the number of forms of media online. And this development has affected the growth of radio. In fact, people these days believe that radios might be becoming obsolete. If any colossal change doesn’t take place to improve them. But I believe that radios can never become completely obsolete no matter how much online media enhances. The reasons are explained below.
The first reason being, radios are present at almost every end of the world. The very common phenomenon that we notice is the use of radios in salons and parlors. This is a very similar trait that most of the salons and parlors follow by having a radio playing. Whenever a person is getting a massage, or haircut, or any other service, they find the songs, or games played on the radio quite relaxing. We often find our fathers and brothers visiting the salon for a haircut or quick shaving. Our mothers and sisters also quite often visit the salon for pedicures and manicures, and the radio plays a great role in determining the mood of the person.
Radio plays a very crucial role in the rural and agricultural sectors. The percentage of agricultural and rural sectors is gigantic across the world. Radio is inexpensive, and most of the farmers play the radio when working in the fields. There are many ‘panchayats’ in the rural areas in India, and the radios are mostly played. The people in the rural areas get all their information through the radio, as maximum people cannot afford television sets.
The other place where radios are very much in use is clubhouses. Both cities and rural areas have radios in the clubhouses. Clubhouses are common in neighborhoods, schools, colleges, and universities. Since in clubhouses most of the members play board games, discuss politics, read magazines, and more. The radio constantly plays in the background, and this keeps the members engaged in what they are doing. All these activities and places prove that radios will never be old, and human beings are attached to radio for a long time.

Model Answer 3

The topic talks about how online media is developing, and that there is a huge fall in the demand for the radio. Radio has been an integral part of human lives for a long time now. But technological advancements have also resulted in a high number of different forms of mass media. We have today the internet that provides us information on a plethora of platforms. I personally feel that the given statement is true. And that if the radio is not refurbished in a modernized way, it will soon become obsolete.
The given statement states the radio is almost on the verge of extinction. And it is mostly true as social media, the internet, and other platforms are offering information in plenty. The first thing that supports the given statement is, radio doesn’t support pictures, sounds, or videos. But today’s platforms like Youtube, Spotify, comprise sounds and videos that make accessing information very easy and understandable. It becomes hard to perceive a certain kind of information at a particular point in time. But platforms like Instagram, and Facebook have made it easy for people to analyze the situation. See what is happening, and also provide their own opinions.
Radio doesn’t offer much entertainment as quite evident from the limited number of stations. The internet platforms like Youtube, Spotify, and more, offer the audience a very wide range of options. It offers people the opportunity to choose and play their favorite songs, and also provides videos along with it. But radios only offer songs that are played on the available stations. This way the audience gets more information. If the radio doesn’t go through a change in its fallout, then it may actually become obsolete.
