Topic: With Deforestation, Urban Development and Illegal Hunting, Many Animal Species are Becoming Endangered as They Lose Their Habitat IELTS Writing Task 2

Model Answer 1:

Human activities like cutting forests for farming and settlement, hunting, poaching animals for an all-round development of society and trade has led to several animals and birds to become endangered or at the verge of extinction. From global warming to climate change the environment is going through a lot many changes. Owing to the multitude of dangers that the environment is suffering, I believe the animals are facing the brunt of it. Which is why animals must be protected so that they do not lose their habitat. Animals are an important part of the ecological balance and also a representation of culture of any country. The national animal of India is the tiger, whereas the national bird is Peacock. Both these depict a powerful heritage of the country. However, it is a sheer disappointment that for the improvement of lifestyle we are constantly harming the environment which ultimately leads to disruption of the ecosystem and loss of biodiversity. Thus, I believe it is necessary that we follow certain steps to save the animals from becoming extinct or endangered. Firstly, we could take small steps to reduce pollution. Pollution poses a significant threat to the animal species. Littering plastics is a major threat to the animal as well as the marine species. The emission of harmful gasses in the environment is another threat for the animals. It is important that humans dump their waste at the right place and also avoid dumping chemicals down the drain. Secondly, we could help save the environment by donating to organizations that promote sustainability. Opting for eco-friendly materials and supporting minimalism by accepting minimal packaging is the right way to go. Thirdly, I would suggest some of the Wildlife Organizations out there. To name a few WWF (World Wildlife Fund), Oceana, Sierra Club and so on. These organizations are diligently working to support wildlife and conservation of their habitats. We could find the initiatives that they are taking and donate for such causes. The Government must also take stringent steps for people that indulge in illegal hunting, poaching and wildlife trafficking. As humans it is our duty to maintain the ecological balance by saving the animal species around us. It will also allow animals to stay close to their natural habitat and not lose their homes.

Model Answer 2

Urbanization has caused a great deal of stress on the animal species around us. Farming, deforestation, mining pollution all have caused a threat to the animal and bird species around thereby also disrupting the ecosystem. To maintain the ecological balance it is important that we save the animal species around us from extinction. Some animals that are in the list of being endangered or extinct are : Polar Bear, Black Rhino, Giant Panda etc. Some of the steps that we can follow to ensure that animals do not lose their habitat are listed below. Firstly, Plantain more trees. Deforestation is increasing at an alarming rate. People are constantly cutting down trees for constructions, farming etc. It is also subsequently best to plant at the rate with which the trees are being cut down. It will ensure the balance for the trees that are being cut down. Secondly, it is necessary to educate people more and make them aware of the ecosystem disruption and animal extinction. The more people are cognizant about the environment it will help them take care of it. Thirdly, the government should take stringent action, formulate pilicies like imposing heavy fines on people that indulge in activities like illegal hunting, poaching, overfishing, even deforestation. It will control the rate at which people are recklessly killing animals for their selfish needs. Besides, the factors mentioned are some of the other things that people should do to save the environment and biodiversity are: avoid harmful black market products, drive carefully, planting native flora, and volunteer to protect wildlife in your area. Furthermore, animals that are already on the verge of extinction, like Royal Bengal tigers, Giant pandas, and many more, the government should build protected areas like national parks, sanctuaries and biosphere reserves. These areas will guard these species against different kinds of exploitation. Apart from these people must focus on protecting the natural resources and coming up with alternatives that are healthy and eco-friendly for us. In conclusion, organizations like WWF, PETA, and WTI, are constantly working to mitigate the various dangers of wildlife. Also, it is our duty as a whole to take care of our resources thereby maintaining a balance with the elements of nature. It will also be beneficial for the future generations.

Model Answer 3:

Sprawling cities, illegal hunting, reckless driving is posing a serious threat to the animal species around us. Animals being the powerful heritage of the country are dwindling at an alarming rate due to humans impacting the environment recklessly. I believe that we are harming animals for our selfish reasons and must take the necessary steps to preserve the animals. There is an urgent need to take the necessary steps to mitigate the threats on these animals. Firstly, the government should construct national parks, biosphere reserves to save the animals from any threat and unwanted killing. Poachers are killing tigers for their skin and selling it in the black market. People must refrain from buying such black market products and the government also impose huge fines and punishment to control the skin trading. Poaching is undoubtedly a major threat to the animals. Hunting animals for entertainment must also be banned. PETA, WWF are undoubtedly taking the necessary steps to save the animal species. However, there are some parts in the country that are still indulging in poaching and illegal hunting besides all the steps that are being taken by these organizations. For example South Africa has abundant wildlife from rhinos to giraffes. The number of local species here are vast and beautiful. However, South Africa has found itself high on the illegal trade list. People also rely on animals for their food and dairy products. Besides, domesticated animals also need space for grazing which are slowly declining due to urban development. It all makes animals to be saved from the atrocities of urbanization. Apart from the government taking strict action, dedicated forest areas also need to be marked which must be free from the perils of urbanization. To conclude, the government and the humans both must be responsible to save our animals from being endangered. Even after implementing different animal killings people are not taking them seriously. I believe it is a two way effort from the government as well as the people to take care of the environment. It is the only way we can save some of the rare animals from becoming extinct.
