Why Wilderness?

Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures is the largest provider of school camps, excursions and outdoor pursuits in South Australia and one of the largest on a national scale. Here at Wilderness Escape we provide outdoor experiences to schools from a junior primary level up to senior secondary.

What sets us above the rest?

Our school programs can be tailor made to suit the needs of your particular school, class or youth group. We can really sec the importance and benefit from education in the outdoors and will design your program around the current and relevant curriculum within your school. We understand that the needs and learning outcomes of one school or group can differ immensely from another. We also service universities, businesses, youth groups, adults and special needs populations throughout South Australia and interstate. Our aim is to improve the relationship that people have with the outdoors, and enjoy a range of recreational and educational experiences. We utilize outdoor settings as a means of escape from social stresses; to gain better understanding of ourselves; improve our relationships with others: and find enjoyment associating

within groups away from our structured surroundings. Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures has been in operation since 1991, taking groups overseas to Russia and Nepal and conducting expeditions and programs throughout South Australia and Victoria.

The Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventure offices are located in Glynde, only 10 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Our programs and expeditions are run in over 100 different locations across Australia. "Our goal is to guide people through experiential learning to achieve a range of personal skills in outdoor pursuits that will increase the person's participation and appreciation of outdoor pursuits and the environment." One of the favorite spots for wilderness is The Adelaide Hills. It may only be within 30-40minutes from the city but the region is perfectly suited for moderate level wilderness experiences. Mountain biking, bushwalking & rock climbing are three activities becoming exceedingly popular in the Adelaide Hills and three activities that Wilderness.

Escape have been providing in the region for over two decades. Popular bushwalking/ riding expedition locations and tent based experiences include Cudlee Creek, Black Hill and Morialta Conservation Parks, Mt Crawford Forest, Warren and Hale Conservation Parks in the central Mt Lofty Ranges and Kuitpo Forest in the southern end.

Bunkhouse style accommodation is available at Woodhouse Activity Centre with access to our very own high and low ropes courses, 15 meter rock climbing tower and our reputable 320 meter flying fox. Other popular accommodation options for Wilderness Escape programs include Douglas Scrub which is now home to our new and excitingly awesome continuous high ropes course and three sided rock climbing tower. If your organization is looking for some adrenalin pumping team building activities, the Adelaide Hills is the place to be. Both our high ropes facilities are perfect for camp style programs and single day options.
