Companies look for a manager to have a few key qualities, including leadership, effective communication, empathy, and good manners. Leadership, in my opinion, is an acquired skill for the reasons listed below.
Nobody is born with the ability to manage a team or a community. We grow and develop as leaders as a result of our life experiences. It takes consistent practice to take the initiative, assist the group with varied chores, and set an example for others. It is unusual for a newcomer to succeed on the first try. For instance, Mahatma Gandhi was a great leader, who learned the necessary qualities for leadership via practice and life lessons. Therefore, I think that being a leader is a skill that can be learned rather than something that comes naturally.
When choosing a good manager, a few additional qualities are taken into account in addition to leadership ability. These include politeness, empathy, and effective communication. First and foremost, a leader must have excellent communication skills in order to interact both with his members and with customers. A manager should also have empathy, since only then would his employees or clients feel open to talking to him about their thoughts. And finally, the capacity to keep one's composure under pressure makes one the ideal candidate for a managerial position.
Managers could have to deal with difficult clients, and it is essential for them to remain calm and polite in order to handle the problem and find a solution. For instance, if a person is good with a client, they may be able to persuade them to accept a slight delay in the project's delivery by using their soft skills. They must be as open as they can be in order to provide a good example for their colleagues in terms of professionalism, commitment, etc. They must have effective time management abilities.
