Percentage of water used for different purposes

band 8 Answer

In six regions of the world, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia, the pie chart shows household water percentages. It can be seen in all areas, except North America and Europe, that a lot of water is consumed by agriculture.

In other countries, the use of water in the industry has been considered poor, while industry uses around half of the water in North America and Europe. In South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia, more than 2-3 of the available water has been used for agricultural purposes. With 88 percent of it used for irrigation, Central Asia had the highest use of water for agriculture. Domestic and industrial water use has been marginal in Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. The highest percentage of domestic water was used in South America (19 percent), followed by Europe (19 percent) (15 percent ). Water in Europe (53 percent) was the highest volume for industrial use, while the lowest was consumed in Central Asia for that purpose (5 percent ). By contrast, agriculture represents the vast amount of water in the four areas. In North America and Europe, water use in industry accounts for 48 percent and 53 percent of total water use. Approximately 10 percent of water is used for industrial production in the other four growth areas. The opposite data can be seen by using water in the agricultural category. This represents over 70 percent in South America. In contrast, in South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South-East Asia, this accounts for over 70 percent of North and Europe. Industrial and agricultural use is opposed to the lowest level of residential water use. Approximately 15 percent of water is used in the Americas and Europe, while less than 10 percent is used in Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Band 7 Answer

The pie charts provide information on the use of water in six different parts of the world, development, agriculture, and households. The use of water for agricultural purposes is prevalent in Asia, Africa, and South America, while it is primarily used for industrial purposes in North America and Europe, as illustrated in this example.

As the diagrams indicate, in Africa and Asia, over 80% of agriculture's water is consumed. South America's water consumption is equal to 71 percent. Since these countries account for a large percentage of irrigation water, less than 20 percent of industrial and domestic water use is combined. Just South America uses 29 percent of these countries for domestic and manufacturing purposes. More water is used, on the other hand, in sectors that account for 48 percent and 53 percent in North America and Europe. They use less than 40 percent of the water for irrigation. Once again, in America and Europe, domestic water usage is around 15 percent higher than in the Asian and African regions. It was first seen in the agriculture sector that there was a high proportion of water usage, which was higher in Africa and Asia than in the US and Europe. In Africa and Asia, more than 80 percent of water went to agricultural fields, while in Europe it was just 32 percent, and in North America, it was 39 percent. In their industrial sectors, North America and Europe needed more water than Asia and Africa. Whereas half of the water was used in the North American and European industries, the figure in Africa and Asia ranged from 5% to 12%. Interestingly, water use is a contrasting situation in North and South America. In the United States and Europe, more can be used as household water than in the Asian and African areas.

Band 7.5 Answer

As for the percentage of agricultural water use, the highest proportion in Central Asia is 88%, followed by 84%, 81%, and 71% respectively for Africa, South East Asia, and South America. However, 32% of Europe and 39% of North America account for the two lowest proportions of agricultural use of water.

But on the other hand, for industrial uses, Europe has the largest share of water consumption, which is 53%. The second highest for North America is 48 percent. This proportion is lower in agricultural countries, with just 5 percent of people in Central Asia, for example, using water for industrial use. Domestic consumption is the smallest proportion of the world's water use. The highest share, which is just 19 percent, is in South America. In Asia, both Central Asia, and South-East Asia, the amount of domestic water use is the lowest, which is just 7 percent.  The data showed that in all regions except Europe and North America, the share of agricultural water was the most widely used, with more than 80% being used in Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, and 71% in South America. The most prevalent use was agricultural water. In comparison, North America and Europe had the highest proportion of water, and domestic consumption was 13 percent and 15 percent, respectively. For industry and domestic use, water was the lowest in Africa, Central & South-Eastern Asia, and South America. Just 7 percent of water is used for domestic use in Asia and 9 percent in Africa. These uses were, however, slightly higher in South America, representing 19 percent. In terms of industrial use, water use in South East Asia was 12 percent, followed by 10 percent in South America.
