The given charts illustrate the water consumption pattern in Australia for the year 2004 with a breakdown of the residential water consumption. It is quite clear that houses, followed by apartments are the largest consumers of water, standing respectively at 57% and 13% of the annual water consumption. Furthermore, industry is not far behind with an annual water usage of 11% in 2004.
The bar graph depicts a comprehensive usage-wise proportion of the residential water use in 2004.

It includes both, apartments as well as houses. At the outset it is apparent that the bathroom and garden are the largest water use areas, contributing around 27% to the annual residential water usage each.The next closest use is washing clothes, which is where 20% of the water is used.
