Band 5 IELTS Essay

It often seems that virtual reality can be a lot of fun by expanding the experiences and escaping reality. However, it is not what it seems like .It’s just a setting where we can exist and interact. If those activities that we engage in are fun, we would probably consider reality to be “fun”, but it’s not a property or consequence of reality. If we engaged in activities that are monotonous, terrifying, self-destructive or depressing, we’d probably consider reality to be “not fun”.The same holds true for virtual reality. However, we tend to create scenarios and activities in VR specifically for entertainment. Often this could lead to various psychosocial problems in children . Moreover the internet contains so much of information that could be dangerous for child .There are also dangers associated with instant messaging, chat rooms, emails, and social networking sites - from cyberbullying to exposure to sexual predators.

Cyberbullying takes many forms on the Internet. In addition to sending hateful messages or even death threats, cyberbullying includes spreading lies about children online, making nasty comments on their social networking profiles, or creating a website aimed at slandering their reputations or appearances. Kids often don't tell their parents they're being cyberbullied because they're afraid their parents will overreact or remove their Internet privileges. Although software filters are a good solution, some nasty sites can slip through, while educational and family-rated sites may not be blocked. In the end, while some parents may think monitoring means spying on their children, the safety factor usually wins out. Kids can be victims of their own inexperience with technology when it comes to camera phones, digital cameras, and web cams these days. It is common for people to post pictures, videos, or notes online that they later regret. Provocative photos of teenage girls are common on social media. Phishing is another internet scam. Phishing emails often use catchy lines designed to catch the user's attention, like Hey, click on this link to earn easy money or I think you'll like this. Such links can easily compromise children's accounts once they click on them.

A number of reasons have led some gamers to see virtual reality as more than just an entertainment medium. The first reason for working from home is convenience. Employees are increasingly working from home as more and more employers allow them to work remotely. Additionally, the Internet allows people to communicate with each other. Through the web, people can make and chat with friends from around the world, regardless of their location. The use of social networking websites for finding partners is even common among singles.

Although some parents believe alternative reality is solely for amusement, it is important to note that some parents disagree. They support their position with the following arguments

Firstly, it cannot substitute face-to-face conversation. Despite spending most of their time on-line, people need to accept the reality around them and admit that the real world is more important. Secondly, the Internet is unreliable when it comes to dating. Many gullible people have been cheated by criminals posing as beautiful girls or handsome men. Consequently, their victims lose money, but luckily they change their attitude towards the virtual world. Despite some parents saying that alternative worlds are incapable of breaking their limits, I believe they have already transformed human life and guided people in how to live. Virtual Reality is not something you can do for very long, in large part because the headsets you wear are uncomfortable. It is also possible for VR to cause nausea in gamers. The Internet has become boring in a nutshell. It was hoped that the Web, when it went mass market in the mid-'90s, would be a place of exploration and creativity. Instead, it restricts our activities at nearly every turn. Besides constraining us as individuals, this threatens to impede the very inventiveness that the Internet industry relies on to succeed. A new vision for the Internet's next generation is needed now, along with an understanding of how we got here.
