Topic: Violence among young people has increased dramatically over the past 50 years. This rise moves in tandem with the growth in violent media. Thus, the conclusion can be drawn that violent media is the main cause of violence among young people. Do you agree or disagree?

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Over the past few decades, more people have become aware of the issue of violent conduct among young people. I wholeheartedly concur with the argument that the increased violence depicted on television and in the news has an adverse psychological impact on kids. And it encourages them to be nasty. This essay will demonstrate how a rise in the quantity of news reports about international conflicts and violent video games makes teenagers more aggressive.

The fact that news organisations show excessively harsh tales in order to attract views is the most significant factor contributing to the rise in cruelty. Especially among young people nowadays. As a result, youngsters often consume violence from screens as one of the most affectionate segments of the auditory system. Therefore, it is evident that the prevalence of violent outbursts among young people has increased as a result of vile news broadcasts. It's also important to take into account the rise in popularity among kids of violent video games that encourage antisocial behaviour. There are tasks like killing people and stealing goods in some of the stories of contemporary video games. While their parents occasionally are unaware of the games' contents, kids often thoroughly enjoy these types of games. Teenagers grow accustomed to cruelty and violence from a young age, despite the fact that it all happens in virtual reality. As a result, I completely concur with the assertion that one of the most important elements contributing to the rise in youth violence is cruelty in the media. Children become more violent when they watch violent television news or play violent video games. There will be more media outlets like this in the future, so parents should think of ways to shield their kids from them. So, both the broadcasting media as well as gaming media is harmful. It has an impact on the minds of the youth. Consequently, parents should keep an eye on the kind of media their child consumes.

Band 7.5 IELTS essay

Violence among children and adolescents has significantly grown during the past 50 years. A number of people claim that the growth of violent media in television and the internet is fast raising the crime rate among young people. Considering alternate explanations for this behaviour, I can only concur in part with this assertion. Beginning with the reality that social media and television have an impact on adults of all ages, even those who are ageing, should not be disputed.

To draw in more viewers, news organisations cover particularly unpleasant stories on television and in publications. Since children's faces are among the most affectionate parts of the auditory system, viewers in front of them regularly watch violent content on television. Another noteworthy aspect is how violent video games that encourage chores like murdering people or stealing other people's stuff encourage antisocial behaviour. As a result, even though it all takes place in a virtual world, children as young as a few years old are accustomed to brutality and damage. But when contrasted to a child's interaction with society and their parents, the effects of television and social media seem insignificant. First and foremost, it is the responsibility of parents to develop their children's rational judgement of what is "good" and "bad." Additionally, as young people try to integrate into the community but are unsuccessful, they choose a rigorous road to establish their reputation. It may lead to antagonism and occasionally rejection of children by society. This is another factor that contributes to violent behaviour. The incapacity of society to act sympathetically and the absence of parental participation in children's lives are two major factors to violent behaviour. In conclusion, there is no question that exposure to violent media causes similar behaviour in young people. But society's and parents' roles also contribute to this developing tendency.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Young adults have experienced an increase in violent crime rates over the past 50 years, which many people attribute to the prevalence of violent media. This is a remark that I only somewhat concur with. The primary and most logical justification for this agreement is that the Internet is now widely used on a global scale. And there is a vast supply of visual media available. As a result, technology has already undergone a revolution, allowing young people to access these resources without parental consent.

Teenagers who watch TV, for instance, may pick up offensive languages, cultures, and social tendencies. They might be exposed to graphic images of sexual or physical violence or other dangerous sources of image media. Additionally, it has a significant negative impact on aberrant behaviour. Nevertheless, other people argue that conflicts in interpersonal relationships are the primary reason for the high rates of violent crime among young people. In fact, I would contend that it is at odds with the principles of an open and equitable relationship. For instance, if a teenager and his friend disagree about who should lead the team as captain and neither of them puts up with the other, they may fight. Instead of doing that, they could communicate their current emotions to one another while maintaining composure. This viewpoint is becoming less and less plausible because violent media is being distributed to all TV sets. And is distributed often disguising itself as action or adventure films like Game of Thrones or John Wick. Numerous studies show that watching violent content causes one to act aggressively and exhibit violent tendencies later in life. And young people who enjoy fulfilling it without thinking about the implications of their conduct might readily pay attention to these violent images. Future violent behaviour will significantly increase the number of armed crimes, sexual crimes, and other types of criminal activity. In conclusion, it is clear that exposure to violent media influences young people's behaviour, and it is important to stop its widespread use.
