Band 8 IELTS Essay

There is much debate about whether university graduates should be required to choose career-oriented technology. As well as science majors or should be allowed to choose their own courses. This essay explores the arguments for and against both of these points of view before offering my own opinions and drawing a logical conclusion.

On the one extreme, a university is the center of higher learning in a nation. And it is believed to be in charge of raising the next generation of capable leaders. In this manner, the regulations governing education and instruction at the university have an effect on the entire country.

According to some experts, university students should have considerable freedom in choosing their majors and there shouldn't be a predefined curriculum. They think that encouraging them to analyze new fields will make them into office employees rather than future leaders of the nation. They also emphasize that allowing children to study a variety of subjects will help them become much more aware of and equipped to deal with challenges. And that this approach will encourage higher education students to chase their dreams rather than just looking for a job. On how higher education institutions should design their curricula, people have varying viewpoints.

Despite the fact that many people think creating course materials should be voluntary. Others contend that it is more crucial for schools to teach skills that are more useful and closely related to science and technology. Additionally, universities should produce a workforce that is technologically proficient for the country. Because a country's development now depends greatly on that labor. From this point of view, it seems normal for institutions to assign the bulk of their students to science-related courses. In conclusion, universities must consider the advantages and disadvantages of every policy. Including allowing students to select their own academic fields. But in my opinion, letting university students pick their own majors has much more advantages and ultimately seems more sensible.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

This generation is transitioning into a more modern world as the cost and respect for each criterion-linked field grows, regardless of what students choose to study. However, other people believe that students should only study subjects connected to science and technology to be relevant in the future. Nonetheless, I believe that people's choices and passions are important in all aspects. People have the right to pursue their passions and interests as they see fit. Society does not have the authority to compel any students to do anything. Every susceptible has a unique place and function in the world, whether it is in the arts, science, or commerce.

Furthermore, society requires as many artists as it does scientists. Pressuring university students to study just science and teach only science-related disciplines would generate a societal imbalance. On the one hand, some people believe that children might be inspired to study a subject they are interested in because people generally work hard and persevere to attain their goals. In other words, when individuals are not quickly discouraged and do not become bored, they become far more productive. Furthermore, allowing youngsters to learn in their areas of interest is advantageous because there is no need to be concerned about wasting human resources and their time. To be more specific, they may not choose to work as a specialist in the subject in which they have been obliged to learn, which may place significant demands on their time and labor. I believe that students should enroll in a major, preferably one that is connected to technology and science, such as natural science and technology, information technology, and so on, and focus completely on studying these disciplines. According to a study conducted by the Statistics Center in Semarang, society will be focused on technology and science in the future as a result of globalization. As a result, it is often assumed that college students should be engaged in disciplines related to those areas to adapt to future situations and improve themselves.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Nowadays, it is clear that the majority of people want to further their education at institutions such as a university or college. While some residents believe that kids should be free to study things that they are interested in, others disagree and believe that they must be involved in majors that will be highly useful in the future.

To begin, every person on this planet is likely to have human rights, which implies they are free to pursue their interests, such as studying a subject at university. In general, students tend to pursue majors that are based on their interests. For example, my brother, Luce, has an interest in data analysis and has decided to study statistics, and a university committee cannot limit him from studying that topic because such action appears to restrict somebody from his interest. As a result, if a student is enrolled in a university or a college, he or she should be allowed to read about whatever subjects interest him or her. In most cases, studying from a passion is more beneficial. On the contrary, the university administration must evaluate the implications of allowing students to choose their disciplines. According to a recent study, a student who is restricted by syllabus studies consistently and studies for the exam, whereas the option to select any topic drastically increases the percentage of dropout students. This is a concerning problem, and the university administration should reconsider before enacting the policy. Allowing adolescents to study just courses that will be useful in the future, on the other hand, can be beneficial when they do not know what they want to be. Because parents know their children best, the adults' counsel will put the children on the proper route. Students will be able to use those courses in the future and stand on their own. Furthermore, by restricting themes to future demands, children will become more active in the development of living standards and the environment. As a result, youngsters will be able to do better work and contribute to future scientific advances.
