Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

The pie charts show where the fish came from. The table on the other hand shows how much fish was brought into the US in dollars. Both these data are given for three years which are 1988, 1992, and 2000.

During those three years, the total value of imported fish increased. China and Canada were the two nations that frequently supplied fish to the United States. Nonetheless, the level of wellspring of fish imported from those nations were not the same as year to year. China's exports were growing while Canada's were decreasing to the US.

Only 6.57 billion dollars' worth of fish was imported into the United States in 1988. The number then slightly increased to 8.52 billion in 1992 and 10.72 billion in 2000.

China and Canada have always sent fish to the United States throughout the year. However, while fish imports from China increased from 13% in 1988 to 20% in 1992 and 30% in 2000. Those from Canada decreased from 60% in 1988 to 28% in 2000. The highest fall was in 1992. The import from Canada went down from 60% to 34%. The others section increased from 27% in 1988 to 34% in 1992. It again dropped by 6% in 2000.

The table shows total value of fish imported and the pie chart shows the countries from which they are imported. All the data are provided for the year 1988, 19092 and 2000.

The table clearly mentions the amount of money or value sources of fish imported in those years. The highest value was in 2000 accounting to 10.72 billion dollars. In 1988, it was merely 6.57 billion dollars and in 1992, the amount was 8.52 billion dollars. This shows that with time, the value of fish imported also increased by huge margins.

Now, if we look at the pie chart, we notice three charts of three separate years. The first one is of the year 1988 where Canada stood out as the country from which US imported most fishes. Canada accounted for 60% of the imported fish while others were at 27%. China was the lowest at 13%. The scenario changed in the next four years. In 1992, Canada dropped to second position with a huge drop. US imported only 34% of the fish from Canada. Other countries took the top position at 46%. China increased but stayed at the last. It accounted to 20% of the imports. The year 2000 did not see massive changes as compared to 1992. Other countries remained at top with 42%, canada dropped by 6% and stood at 28%. China increased by 10% and accounted for 30% of the total fish imports.

The three nations from which the fish are imported to the United States are depicted in the pie chart. The total value of these fish in billions of dollars for the years 1988, 1992, and 2000 is shown in the table.

Overall, Canada was the country that imported the most fish at first, but over time, other countries started shipping more fish to the US.

In 1988, the price of all fish imported into the United States was 6.57 billion dollars, but in 1992, it was approximately $2 billion more than in 1988. However, the cost of imported fish increased slightly in the year 2000, reaching $10.72 dollars.

In contrast, in 1988, Canada supplied 60% of the fish, while China supplied 27% and 13% of the fish, respectively. However, while the shipping of fish from Canada decreased by 26% by 1992, imports from other countries and China increased by 19% and 7%, respectively. Lastly, in 2000, 30% of fish were shipped from China, 42% from other countries, and 28% from Canada.
