The table and graph given above shows the total number of cruise passengers and their percentage according to age in 1975 and 2003 in the UK. It is observed that the number of passengers who traveled by cruise had considerably soared over 28 years and also had grown in the given age groups.
The total number of people who went on cruise were 397,837 in 1975, however, this number increased to 1,005,231 in 2003. Now comparing with the different age groups, from the year 1975 to 2003, age less than 24 is less than 10 per cent. At the same time, the age range from 25 to 44 tends to increase by 5% in 1975 and by 5% in 2003.
Now, there was a rise observed in the age groups of 45 to 54 as 13% and 25% at the specified time period. There was a double to 30% in 1975 and 35% in 2003 at the ages from 55 to 64, and it continued at the same value of 35% and reached the maximum point of 50% in 2003 at the age of more than 64 years.

It is studied that the number of passengers at the end time period increased constantly when compared to earlier time period. In addition, the maximum number of customers of UK cruises came from people over 50 years old.
It is given in the table that the total number of passengers of UK cruises were 397,837 in 1975, and this number rose rapidly 28 years later with more than 300 per cent increase, at 1005231. Majority of passengers were older people with ages more than 64 years old.
It is seen from the graph, passengers with ages more than 64 years old dominated the cruise, with less than 40 per cent in 1975 and grew up to 50 per cent 28 years later. The second and third highest were people with ages between 55 and 64; and between 45 and 54, with percentages at both periods being around 30 and 20, respectively. It followed by ages between 35–44, 25–34, and ages below 24, with percentages below 20 per cent in 1975 and 2003.

The table shows that in 1975, just-under 4 lac people went for cruise in the UK. This number increased two and a half times and reached a little-over 10 lac by 2003.
The column graph displays that among all age groups the percentage of those going for cruise increased with time. In 1975, 5% each of the <24s and the 25-34 age group went for cruise. Their percentage increased by 5% and 10% respectively in 2003. The percentage of cruisers in the 35-44 and the 45-54 age groups doubled from 10 to 20 and from 12 to 24 in the given period of 28 years. The least discrepancy can be seen in the 55-64 year olds, in whom the percentage increased only from 28 to 34 in the given time period. The maximum cruisers were the over 64s in both the given years. Their percentage also increased from 37 in 1975 to 50 in 2003. Overall, it is manifest that the popularity of going for cruises increased with time and the popularity also grew with advancing age.
