Topic: There are some violent cartoon characters on TV such as mickey mouse which bring a negative influence on children. Do you agree or disagree? What types of TV Programs are suitable for children?

Band 6 IELTS Essay

Teenage children have been enamored with cartoons since the introduction of cell phones and television. And there is no doubt that such aggressive, negative, and futile programming has negatively impacted innocent children. A U.N. study conducted on toddlers and teenagers determined that cartoons can have adverse psychological effects, such as desensitization. Since children see violence every day on TV programmes, they become tolerant of terror events like murder due to left cortex immunization. Further, violent television/mobile programs make children aggressive because they are imitating their idols.

Their immunity to Endorphin, the chemical that is responsible for addiction, is a function of continuously watching television. They are lazy because they do not have to do anything to obtain Dopamine. Anyhow, preventing children from watching television is not the answer, since it's obvious that keeping them from it won't solve the problem. As a result, we must choose alternate shows, such as Discovery Channel, which will increase knowledge about science. National Geographic, which has an excellent programme related to earth geography. And Panchatantra and other knowledgeable stories, which will increase wisdom. To summarize, I believe that both parents and the government must take charge of this situation. It must be sabotaged by parents monitoring and guiding their children, and the government prohibiting unsuitable programming.

If children are constantly exposed to violent and fighting cartoons, it will affect their morale and may lead to teenage violence in the future. As a result, I agree that violence in cartoons is harmful to children. A number of arguments surround my point of view. To begin with, psychological research has shown that children who watch violent cartoons may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. They are not afraid of violence and are not bothered by it in general.

If one of the cartoon characters is killed, the others don't care and may even laugh. Violence and even death are made to appear comical and unreal on television. Because violent television desensitizes children, they do not learn to respect life. Second, children mimic what they see and, as a result, become naturally aggressive. They can't tell the difference between what's real and what's not. The cartoon characters are all made up. Young children do not understand that when a character attacks someone, it is not real and should not be imitated. Children engage in imaginative play, which is essential for the development of their personalities. Children who watch violent cartoons have lower imaginative play and more imitative play, which mimics cartoon violence and aggression. There are numerous types of TV shows that may be better for children. Educational cartoons can help instill positive values in children. However, it is the responsibility of parents to force their children to watch cartoons that entertain and educate them without being violent. Parents should watch cartoons with their children and evaluate them together. It is important for parents to talk to their children about the cartoons they watched to determine if they have a positive impact on them. In addition, the government should take steps to increase the amount of educational programming available to children.

To summarize, I believe that children will try to imitate anything they see or hear, and cartoon violence is no exception. As a result, it is the responsibility of parents to ensure that their children do not watch violent cartoon programmes and instead watch educational cartoons.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

There is an opinion that Disney shows on television should be reduced because they have a negative impact on children. I strongly agree with this statement, and I will explain why in the following paragraphs using appropriate examples.

To begin with, juniors prefer to watch cartoons such as Doremon, Tom and Jerry, and so on. As a result, they become completely immersed in those kinds of fantasies, wasting their valuable time and negatively impacting their vision and health. In fact, brutal personalities have a negative impact on the lives of children. Their minds will develop to the point where they believe the violence is real. For example, one of my cousins watches Spiderman every day and emulates his behavior and starts climbing on walls which is dangerous. In general, children should watch something educational and entertaining. Visual imagery plays a significant role in capturing people's attention. There are numerous performances available on television that can both entertain and improve their skills. As a result, it eventually aids in brain development and healthy arts. We can also learn about their talents by attending their concerts. For example, my 5-year-old son is passionate about dance. When he hears songs on the screen, he tries to dance. To summarize, today's child will be tomorrow's citizen. We should not, in my opinion, expose our children to heinous content. As a result, for a bright future, we should provide our children with better talent and convenient programmes. In general, children should watch something educational and entertaining.
