Topic: The position of women has changed a great deal in many societies over the past 50 years. But these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Band 8 IELTS Essay

There is no denying that over the past 50 years, women's status in many nations has evolved significantly. However, these nations still are unable to make the claim of gender equality. I concur, as there is still a pay disparity between the sexes in today's developed societies, and the majority of the top positions are held by males rather than women.

Without a question, female engagement / women's participation has substantially expanded in the workforce and government, as has her overall status in society. Due to the salary discrepancy between men and women, these countries have still not achieved gender equality. According to numerous surveys, women in the same position and level of experience in the workplace make between 25 and 30 percent less money than men.

Men are also consistently preferred for higher positions in various organisations. This is due to the widespread perception among employers that women must balance work with taking care of the home and children. Thus, it's frequently questioned if they can focus entirely on the task at hand. Many women are compelled to take career vacations as a result of having children, which causes them to fall further down the corporate ladder. For instance, one of my friends had to take a 9-month leave of absence after giving birth. When she came back, her job had already been taken by someone else, and she was given the option of accepting a lower position within the same company.

In conclusion, despite the fact that women's status in society has significantly improved, there is still no gender equality. Before societies can declare that they have achieved gender equality, they must address the issue of the pay gap and provide equal opportunity for women in higher positions.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

In contrast to earlier decades, it is now relatively normal for women to participate in several spheres, including the workplace and governmental organisations. Certain types of environments, according to some, are simple for women to participate in. The situation of women is still unfair, according to some, hence they cannot achieve gender equality. This essay will examine the reasons why I completely disagree with this point of view.

The first is that today's women and men both enjoy similar rights. Men and women have equal opportunities to make contributions to society, thus there is no gap between them. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of women working today, and some of them even land crucial roles as employers. It demonstrates that women are just as capable of leading as males. In addition, people believe that men are stronger than women, hence they cannot hold positions of equality with men. I do, however, think that women are already capable of the same things as males. Consider the recent influx of female soldiers into the police and army as an illustration.

There is no justification to claim that women are incapable of reaching objects the same way men can.

Additionally, women today have the ability to share their thoughts and even act as change agents. There are several women serving in positions of authority in the government, including those of politicians, ministers, and presidents. As a result, both men and women have influence that is comparable to that of government officials.

It is true that in some situations, such as when making decisions about the family, women are not always allowed to take the lead. However, the fact that women are active in several societal spheres demonstrates their equality of status and influence.

In conclusion, women can now pursue a career and an education without much difficulty. They can even contribute greatly to society. Because they share the same rights in this life, men and women are therefore considered to be of equal gender.

Band 6 IELTS Essay

More so than ever before, women's roles have grown in significance, and both emerging and developed nations have noted this as a significant shift. According to some, women are similarly negatively impacted in comparison to men. Because of a number of factors, I absolutely concur with this opinion.

Before everything else, it is indisputable that women's status has improved. In several countries, more and more young women are rising to positions of political leadership or succeeding in the workplace. In addition, a number of advantageous policies exist for women in the areas of education, employment, and career training.

For instance, several organisations have reduced the number of hours that women employees must work each week. In Vietnam, female students pay less in tuition than male students do. To put it another way, women now are considerably more concerned than they were in the past. Inequality in sex, however, is a severe problem for women. The percentage of women has remained low despite the fact that they have taken up leadership roles and joined social organisations. Women are under tremendous pressure in several undeveloped and emerging nations to devote a lot of time to caring for children. These women are therefore unable to contribute to society in any meaningful way.

Furthermore, when hiring both manual labourers and highly qualified personnel, some firms typically give women the advantage over men. More significantly, in some nations, women are the victims of the effects of familial violence. I believe that women's lives have changed significantly during the past 50 years. This continues to perpetuate harmful difficulties for women in contemporary society related to unequal sex. Government needs to have more supportive policies for women if it wants to achieve more meaningful gains.
