Band 6 Answer

Looking at the provided graph provides information on the many turtle species. It includes olive ridley turtles, green turtles of all varieties, leatherback turtles, and others, in India between 1980 and 2012. The management of the olive ridley species to expand their population. In contrast to it, the leatherback turtles substantially reducing their population over the course of the given tenure is the most noticeable aspect. In India, there are 111 different species of turtle.

And in 1980, all of the turtle species were at unit 100 of the turtle population index, which was 100 units. In the following years, the number of leatherback turtles rapidly decreased and was just 60 units. Whilst the Olive Ridley turtle population saw the opposite pattern. In accordance with the index, this population continued to grow until 1997. After that, it began to fluctuate, although it eventually reached its peak (120 units) in 2012. The decline was evident in green turtles. Throughout the specified time period, the population of green turtles fluctuated but topped out in 1990 at around 95. Following that, its population declined, and in 2012, it was slightly below 90 units. The population of all species fluctuated greatly after 1987, when they all demonstrated slow but steady growth.

Band 6.5 Answer

The population size of four different species of turtles in India between 1980 and 2012 is depicted in the line graph. The measurement unit is the Index. The graph makes it evident that the number of Leatherback Turtles gradually decreased throughout the time period. The number of Olive Ridley turtles increased dramatically over that same time.

The population of all species fluctuated greatly after 1987 when they all demonstrated slow but steady growth. First off, in the year 1980, distinct turtle populations were represented by a number that was the same (100). The number of Leatherbacks increased steadily after that, reaching a high of around 130 in 1997. The population was then presented as 130 for the year 2012 as it began to fluctuate. Similar increases were seen in all species up until 1987 (110) before oscillation began and the number reached almost 110. The number of green turtles decreased. Throughout the time period, there was a palpable increase in the number of green turtles; in 1989, the population reached nearly 95. The number of Olive Ridley Turtles showed a fast growth up until 1987 (110), when it began to sharply fall. This reduction continued over the following years, reaching a low of under 60 in 2012, the lowest number of the population ever recorded for turtles.

Band 7 Answer

The population statistics for various turtle species in India for two separate years, 1980 and 2012, are shown in the accompanying trend. In the indices, units are measured. Overall, OIive Ridley Turtles recorded the highest population of turtles over the course of the period as opposed to evident variation. But all species saw a slow decline over time. While leatherback turtles saw a sudden spike that was followed by a dramatic decline over time. Green turtles experienced a sharp surge after experiencing a long period of fluctuation.

The next paragraphs highlight important features. First off, the population of Olive Ridley Turtles reached its peak point in 1980, when it reached 100 million indices. And it marginally increased in 1982, reaching 10 million indexes. However, with 120 million indices in 1984, it had the second-largest turtle population ever recorded. Over the following years, there was a gradual growth, and in 2012, it reached its maximum peak. The Leatherback Turtle, in contrast to the three prior turtles. They experienced a sudden increase of 100 million indices in 1984 and a subsequent spike to 15 million indices in 1986. From 1988, however, the population began to fall gradually until it reached a downhill slope. Since 1980, the population of every species has increased and then slowly decreased. It is evident that Green Species recorded a population in 1980 that remained constant at 100 million. Then subsequently recorded a little increase of 10 million, and remained static until 1984, when its population sharply decreased. And continued to vary thereafter, experiencing a sharp rebound following at the end of the period.
