Band 6.5 Essay

The bar graph displays the percentage of visitors to Thailand who between 2014 and 2017 visited Bangkok's Chinatown, Wax Museum, Sea World, and Zoo. The Bangkok zoo had the fewest visitors, while the wax museum was unquestionably the most popular attraction for tourists visiting Thailand. In 2014, half of all visitors to Thailand visited the Bangkok Zoo. There was a sharp drop in numbers between 2014 and 2017. Less than 25% of all tourists visited the zoo in 2015 and 2016. By 2017, it had further decreased to less than 10%. Between 2014 and 2016, the percentage of visitors to the Wax Museum and ChinaTown increased steadily, while the percentage of visitors to the zoo and SeaWorld steadily decreased. In contrast to the decline in zoo visitors, which was from 50% to less than 30%, it increased from less than 50% to over 80% and from under 20% to 100%, respectively. In contrast, Bangkok Zoo saw a slight fluctuation over the time period, with the corresponding figure fluctuating slightly over the first three years and falling to a low of roughly 10% in 2017. Initially higher than the other tourist attractions, the rate of people visiting Sea World was exactly 70%. Then, it decreased over the following two years to just under 60% before dropping to a record-low 20% in the final year. Regarding Chinatown, despite being the destination with the lowest percentage of tourists in 2014 (20%), the figure eventually reached a peak of 100% in the following two years. But later, the number of visitors dramatically decreased to 10% at the end of the period.
