Band 8 IELTS Essay
In today’s world, we have seen that the percentage of overweight children is increasing day by day since the last 10 years. There are many reasons behind this increasing problem and it is very important to control this situation as it is deteriorating the health of children at their early stage of life itself. In this article, we will discuss the main reasons behind this problem and will offer a solution to them.
The main reason behind the increase in the percentage of overweight children is consumption of unhealthy diets. In the western society, we have seen that children prefer to eat junk food or street food instead of consuming a healthy diet. Instead of celebrating parties and cooking food at home, children wish to celebrate in restaurants and desire to eat fast food, drink beverages with a lot of sugar content and consume the high calories food which makes it difficult for them to digest later on. This is the main reason behind the increase in weight of students at the early ages in the western society. After consuming the high calorie food, they don't go to excess or play outdoor games. Due to this, they are unable to burn the calories and digest this food which leads to various health and digestion- related problems.
The solution to solve this problem is that parents should develop the habit of eating a healthy diet in their children from the early ages itself. They should take their children to morning walks and practice the exercises with them. They should not allow children to play video games for long periods of time and engage them in outdoor activities which will increase their stamina.
Government should also make laws to stop unprocessed and unhealthy food and should create awareness regarding the consumption of healthy diet. They should arrange the sports tournaments and start health- related camps to guide people regarding the importance of controlling weight and maintaining good health.
Band 7.5 IELTS Essay
In our day-to-day life, we are observing that the percentage of overweight children in the western society is increasing day by day. Children are shifting their diet plans from a balanced diet to an unbalanced diet. They are facing serious digestion and other health- related problems at the early stages itself. In this article, we will study various reasons behind these problems and will offer a solution to this alarming situation.
There are various reasons for increasing the weight of children at the early stages itself. The first reason behind this serious problem is the luxurious lifestyle that children are adapting to. They prefer to play the indoor games or keep themselves busy with the latest technology due to which they are moving away from the outdoor games. After consumption of food, it is necessary to digest it and burn the calories to maintain good health. But they are not involved in such activities where they can burn the calories and make their body flexible. This is the main reason behind the back pain and body pain problems at the early stages of life. The second reason behind this problem is the unhealthy food that children are consuming. During the school days, instead of taking the lunch box from home, children prefer to have their lunch at the school canteens which serve them unhealthy and oily food. They are unable to digest this food and it leads to indigestion and other digestive problems. The junk or unhealthy food is cheap, tasty but not good for health.
So, it is very important to find a solution to these problems as it is increasing day by day. Government should pass laws to stop the sale of unhealthy food. They should start yoga and meditation camps to create awareness regarding the importance of healthy life and how to control weight. Schools should add the activity periods in their timetable in which it should be compulsory for every student to play the outdoor games on the grounds. Teachers should make it compulsory for the students to bring the healthy food in their tiffin box instead of eating the fast food at the school canteens.
Band 7 IELTS Essay
It is observed that the percentage of overweight children in western society has increased by almost 20% in the last 10 years. This problem is going to become a very serious issue in the coming years. So, it is important to control this, learn about the problem in depth and find a solution to it.
There are various reasons behind this increasing problem. The foremost reason is the consumption of a highly unbalanced diet. Instead of eating green vegetables, fruits and other healthy food, children prefer to consume oily, spicy and junk food. They drink high calorie beverages and consume low nutrient food which leads to digestion-related problems. Children at their early ages are suffering from the gastric and indigestion problems which deteriorates their health. The fast food is cheap and tasty but very unhealthy and less nutritious. Apart from this, the children are adapting the luxurious lifestyle which keeps them away from the outdoor activities and engage them in the indoor activities. The latest technology keeps the children busy with their phones, video games and social media. They think the enjoyment is to watch movies and consume junk food while watching it. But in my view, it is responsibility of the parents to keep their children away from this and engage them in the physical activities at the early stages itself
Therefore, it is very important to find the solution to this problem. Parents, teachers and the government can play a crucial role in solving this situation. They should create awareness among the children regarding the healthy diet and how to control their weight. Teachers should make it compulsory in the schools to bring the green vegetables and fruits in their tiffin box. Parents should cook tasty healthy food for their children at home, so that they don’t get distracted by unhealthy food. Government should make laws to stop the processing of unprocessed food and move towards organic farming for consumption of chemical-free food.
