The graph given above shows the percentage of the employed males and females in four countries in the year 1970 and 2000. It is clearly observed that the number of employed males are more than that of the number of females in all the four countries in both the years.
Firstly, we will analyze the data of the year 1970. The highest number of employed male and female candidates are in the USA, 86% and 78% respectively. Indonesia stands on the second position with 84% employed males and 65% employed females. The lowest number of employed male and female candidates are seen in Japan, where only 76% males and 56% females are employed.
Now, we will analyze the data of the year 2000. We observed that the highest number of males (78%) are employed in the USA and 50% females are employed in Indonesia. The lowest employment rate among females is observed in Belgium, with a number of only 8%. There is a decrease in the employment rate of men and women in both Indonesia and Japan when compared to the year 1970. In Indonesia, the employment percentage rate has decreased to 74% and 50% for males and females respectively. In the case of Japan, this percentage decreased to 63% for males and 47% for females.
Therefore, we concluded that there is a decrease in the employment rate of both men and women in the year 2000 as compared to 1970 but the employment rate of women in Belgium is the worst hit.

In 1970, the highest employment rate was observed in the USA with 86% males and 78% females going for jobs outside. Indonesia is the second country with 84% and 65% employed men and women respectively. 79% Belgian males and 64% females were working in 1970. The lowest employment rate was in Japan, where 76% males and only 56% females were employed.
In 2000, the percentage of men and women employed was far lesser than that in 1970 in all the four given countries. In the USA, the percentage of employed males and females fell by 8% and 33% respectively from the figures of 1970. Indonesia also witnessed a decrease in employment among men and women by 10 and 15% respectively. In Japan the percentage of employed men and women dropped by 13% and 9% respectively. 27% fewer Belgian men were employed in 2000. The biggest brunt of recession was faced by the Belgian women, with the figures falling from 63% in 1970 to 8% in 2000.

In 2000, males worked in 78%, 74% and 63% whereas females were 45%, 50% and 47% in USA, Indonesia and Japan respectively. Belgium recorded the lowest percentage were more than half males and just 8% females working in jobs.
