The prevalence of various methods used by schoolchildren in a country between 1990 and 2010 is compared in the table. These students are aged 5 to 12. Overall, there are large discrepancies in the statistics. As evidenced by data from 1990, the vast majority of young students in this nation choose to walk to school during this time. Totaling more than 12 million trips annually.
Contrarily, a nearly identical number of 6 million trips involving bus and cycling. As well as a combination of bus and walking was accounted for by transportation. Which was about half as common as pure walking. In 1990, there were only 4 million car passengers who commuted between their homes and places of education, which is also a quite low amount. The usage of cars, however, was overwhelmingly prevalent in this nation in 2010 in stark contrast. A total of 11 million car trips were made with a doubled climb. Other modes of transportation for students to and from school witnessed a sharp decline in their composition. In 2010, the car was generally faster than alternative forms of transportation for pupils of playing age.
