Topic: Many people think that important things in life are mostly free or can’t be bought. Do you agree or disagree?

Band 8 IELTS Essay

There are two schools of thoughts that persist in society. One of the thoughts suggests that all of the things can be bought and comes with a price tag. However, the second school of thought suggests that most of the important and necessary things don’t have a price tag attached. However, I disagree with the second notion. I do admit that a number of things that are important in life come with no price tags. However, a number of other things exist that individuals are required to pay for.

It is needless to mention that a number of things come with price tags.

People need financial resources to purchase basic necessities. These include food, shelter and clothes which cannot be bought without spending money. Thus, a person needs funds for their survival and to make both ends meet. Education is not free; neither is healthcare. Without these necessities it is impossible to lead a happy and contented life. If you have a family you have to earn enough to support them. Actually, even the love between family members cannot be sustained if their basic necessities are not met. Obviously, there are many things that have to be bought.

Of course, there are also many things that come free of cost. For example, the love of parents is free. The joy and security that we get within the four walls of our home is free. Friendship is free. Within the confines of our house, we receive unpaid happiness and security. Friendship is a gift. Free are the rain and the sun. These necessities for our survival are all free and available to us.

To sum up, there are definitely some things that are really important for our emotional health that are free. There are numerous other items, though, that can only be purchased with money. Everyone should, in my opinion, make enough money to cover their basic necessities in terms of food and clothing. The importance of taking the time to appreciate other benefits that are provided without charge cannot be overstated at the same time.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Many things in life are thought to be immeasurably valuable and so difficult to acquire by financial means. We are fortunate to have the most valuable things in life for free, and I absolutely agree with the idea.

Many goods are available for purchase with money, but certain essentials, such as happiness, are not. Benjamin Franklin once said that money has never made a man happy and never will because it is not designed by nature to do so. This is a good place to start. Money can only help people acquire tangible goods. And regardless of how much material wealth they own, if they do not develop a profound sense of gratitude. And learn how to be content, they will definitely never be.

Money can only be used to assist people acquire tangible stuff, and regardless of how much material wealth one may possess. However, one will never be fulfilled if one does not feel profound gratitude and learn how to be content. The most fundamental needs in life, such as the air we breathe and the friends and family we are surrounded by, are all available to us for no cost.

Similar to money, time is a valuable commodity that cannot be purchased. No matter how wealthy a person is, once time has passed, it cannot be recovered. In actuality, everyone has access to free time, but all that anyone can do is use it. Every second that passes is a moment you can never get back. Even with the ludicrous advancements in medical knowledge, there is no workable way to greatly lengthen human lives. No amount of money can therefore ever turn the clocks back. One of the most important things in life that money cannot buy is health. No matter how wealthy a person is, they will never voluntarily give up their health for money. The quest of wealth often results in people sacrificing their health, which worsens their health. People can actually pay their medical costs, but once their natural health has declined, they will never be able to get it back.

We may conclude that the most important aspects of life, such as happiness, relationships, time, air, and health, cannot be purchased with money.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Nowadays, we live in a technologically advanced world in which most people have to work hard. In order to earn money for making a living and in the majority of nations double income families have become the norm. While all of these efforts are for making more money, a group of people believe that some important things in life cannot be obtained by money. Situations such as health or happiness. To a certain extent I believe that we need money to provide a more comfortable life for our family. But I also think that some significant life schemes would not be achieved by money.

There are a variety of reasons why I would argue that money plays a central role in our lives. On the other hand, there are some valuable schemes in life such as happiness, success, health, reliable and supportive friends. And family members and many other things that are not likely to gain by spending money. Due to achieving these issues people have to work hard, be open minded and ambitious as well as respecting the family morals.

On the other hand, there are many worthwhile goals in life that are unlikely to be attained by making financial investments. Aspects such as happiness, success, health, dependable friends and family, and a host of other things. People must put forth a lot of effort, have an open mind, be ambitious, and respect family values in order to resolve these challenges. I can cite a Times magazine story that stated that most Chinese people in both rural and urban regions are taught to be grateful. It is for the abilities and gifts that God has given them to support my assertion. The majority of the population—around 80%—learns not to correlate life values with wealth.

In conclusion, some things that are crucial for our emotional health are undoubtedly free. But there are numerous additional items that can only be purchased with cash. Everyone should, in my opinion, be able to make enough money to cover their basic requirements. At the same time, it is crucial that we make time to appreciate other blessings that are provided without charge.
