Band 6.5 IELTS Essay
Public libraries have consistently been a popular location for people to study and read books. However, the 21st century has seen a tremendous change in the technical environment. Along with it, the environment at public libraries has been constantly changing. As a result, libraries provide their readers with cutting-edge technology like computers, CDs, and DVDs to improve their experiences. While some people feel that investing in these high-tech media is a waste of time and space, others see it as important.
I think it's true that using technology to encourage learning is important for improving the reading experiences of readers. The existence of high-tech media makes it possible for readers to have access to content in both print and visual formats. They gain more knowledge about the material they are reading as a result. Public libraries' primary goal is to give people access to useful books and educational materials. There are a variety of publications available in libraries, including academic works, fiction, memoirs, and even poetry. People use their free time and educational opportunities to read in libraries.
These public libraries must efficiently fulfill their mission in order to ensure that people can learn new things. People can increase their knowledge by having access to the internet and high-tech material like DVDs and CDs. It strengthens their understanding of the literature and subjects they are interested in.
By allowing individuals access to the audio-visual materials, public libraries can also reduce their capital expenses. It also becomes crucial to recognize that many people cannot afford Wi-Fi or sophisticated software amenities at home. These DVDs as well as CDs are frequently available for rental, which is quite helpful when someone needs to conduct research. So in my opinion, having high-tech media is more beneficial. As a result, I concur that making investments in these resources can help libraries achieve their intended goals. This makes it easier to innovate with regard to readers' educational experiences.
Band 7 IELTS Essay
Public libraries have been serving the people in different locations to the local communities effectively with the presence of books of different genres. People prefer visiting the libraries in order to explore different subjects or even to spend leisure time. Technological advancements have enabled the public libraries to induce hi-tech media in the form of CDs or DVDs as part of learning. People find it fascinating to visit the public libraries and use these technologies to expand their knowledge and explore different facts.
While some people believe these hi-tech media would help ensure that books in public libraries do not become obsolete, others believe it is a waste of resources. I however, disagree with the view of hi-tech media being a waste of limited resources, reasons for which I would mention in this essay. The presence of the hi-tech media serves as an assistance for the people who want to explore more about certain topics and issues. While the public libraries might have books on older editions, presence of the hi-tech media enables in enduring a comparative analysis with the latest ones. With the use of internet enabled computer softwares, these can become useful. Furthermore, the presence of CDs and DVDs with respect to certain books and resources helps in enhancing the knowledge through visual aid. Graphics and visualisations of what exists in books in printed format, helps people to gain a better perspective and understanding of the topics. Moreover, the capital costs certainly are lowered for the public libraries by offering people access to the audio-visual resources. Furthermore, it becomes essential to understand that many cannot afford Wi-Fi or hi-tech software facilities at home. They would find the public library effectively useful. This in turn enables the libraries to serve their purposes better. Moreover, with the presence of computer enabled software, public libraries can even offer computer based courses to many students. This in turn would help them to expand their expertise in computer-knowledge and practically make use of the library books and technologies effectively. Hence, I feel hi-tech media’s presence only enhances the usefulness of the libraries and does not imply wastage of resources.
Band 8 IELTS Essay
Technological advancements have enabled the people to enhance their learning processes quite effectively. Innovations in this field has even led Public Libraries to consider inducing technologies including softwares, DVDs, etc as part of the learning process. However, many people feel that introducing hi-tech media in the public libraries is a waste of limited resources and space. Others believe that it would serve as a valuable way of increasing the experiences of the learners.
I agree with the latter view because I feel technology has its viable role to play in enhancing the knowledge and learning of the students. People find it interesting to visit the public libraries and use these technologies as part of their learning process. The presence of the hi-tech media serves as a way of providing extended help to the learners in expanding their knowledge. Moreover, only the presence of printed materials in the form of books implies that libraries have limited sources of providing learning resources. Hi-tech media includes DVDs, CDs, internet using YouTube and other online resources for better access to knowledge. It provides people with visual representations of what people are studying in the books. Hence, it allows learners to be able to expand their knowledge both in theoretical and in visual format. For the purpose of self study, when learners make use of the internet, 80% of them learn faster as per the study by university of Toronto. Many times, the presence of the books in the public libraries are from older editions. These become obsolete mostly for the learners who want recent data as part of their learning and research process. For this, the presence of hi-tech only enhances the knowledge of the students. Moreover, these books and materials in print have the chance of getting damaged with time while the online sources and DVDs are more secure. Hence, I feel hi-tech media’s presence only increases the benefits of the libraries and does not imply wastage of resources and space.
