Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

21st century world has been witnessing on a greater note different forms of violent crimes from physical, social to even cybercrimes. Most of the involvement has been identified with youngsters below the age of 18. Some people believe that it is due to the lack of social and emotional learning from their parents or teachers.

I do not completely support this as there could be several reasons for youngsters indulging in violent crime. It could be their early involvement in alcohol, and drugs, their exposure to violence in the family, hyperactivity in children, and so on. It is true that teachers and parents mold a child’s behavior. Sometimes parents do not give much attention to their children due to their busy schedule or their commitment towards their work. It might lead children to be in bad company, misusing technology for their gains and could even lead to depression or sadness sometimes. Children in their teenage years especially between the ages of 13-17 need to be constantly supervised and educated. Children need to be educated on the proper usage of computer or TV games, cell phones and even the internet. If not used properly can cause major behavioral issues in children. For example there are reports which clearly suggest the use of eurphoric substances such as marijuana by the youngsters which has increased in India, thereby rise in the registered police cases have been found. This is due to lack of proper education from parents and the discussion with their children regardin important issues which can save and protect their lives. Yes, parents and teachers are majorly responsible for shaping a child’s behavior but sometimes even properly educating children might not suffice and they can still commit violent crimes. Thus, it is unfair to completely blame parents and teachers for the increase of violent crime in youngsters. There could be several culminating for the same like low family income, involvement with delinquent peers, and unemployment in the family.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Nowadays, the society is growing concerned about the increasing aggressive behaviours of the youngsters and its prevalence might lead them to fostering crimes. It is reported by some psychologists that it is due to children not getting the emotional and social learning from their parents and teachers. To some extent I agree with this statement. As we know the teenage years are the most crucial. It is during those years that develop the personality of an individual or it can completely go off track. Parents at this stage need to continuously supervise their children ,educate them about the right and the wrongs, save them from getting involved with delinquent peers. Teachers also play a paramount role in shaping a child’s behavior.

Teachers need to look at the overall development of a child and not just their grades. A child’s failure at school needs to be addressed by the teachers. Parents need to have a strong emotional bond with their children. The lack of a strong bond with the parents can lead a child to look for this bond elsewhere. Children should be nurtured in a safe environment and not where they are exposed to violence. It can also lead to detrimental mental health impact. Schools should also incorporate dedicated programs in their facilities for violence prevention. These include preschool programs that provide children with necessary social skills at an early stage. Of course there are other factors that are leading up to this increased involvement of youngsters in crime like poverty, exposure to drugs and alcohol at an early stage, even behavioral disorders (that can most likely be controlled). Moreover, involvement of children in social media is also very high. It is essential that what kind of content children watch on the internet is looked after by the parents and teachers, to help these young people take up learning instances from positive content and condemn them from watching violent and criminal contents. All-in-all parents and teachers need to pay extra attention during the teenage years of children as they can to some extent prevent the involvement of children in such monstrosities.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Th world has been experiencing crime on a greater note and mostly, nowadays fom the youth including teenagers. Certain experts in psychology have mentioned that it is indeed an alarming situation which needs to be taken care of. If there is a lack of communication from their end it could lead to extreme atrocities.

The lack of presence of the parents because of both them being working professionals is one the major affects on the children. Their ignorance and lack of attention results in children involving in certain activities and learning from media based content about negative and violent crimes, which henceforth, the parents remain unaware of. One is the lack of a strong emotional bond between parent and the child, second would be their exposure to the internet and social media, and the third is poverty. Parents need to supervise their children constantly in teenage years as it is one of the crucial stages. They need to effectively communicate with their children and impart them moral values. They also need to be educated on the proper usage of the internet and the correct age to use social media. As social media is a trend nowadays, parents need to thoroughly scan the feed that their children are watching. Even better would be to provide children cell phones after a certain age. The lack of proper education plays a vital role in shaping an individual personality. As one of these children had dropped out of school and was also friends with some of the local thugs, he had lost sight of what was right and wrong. All-in-all I to some extent I agree that the lack of social and economic learning from teachers and parents can lead youngsters towards such activities. Other factors like poverty, low family income need to be assessed and dealt with by the Government. They need to intervene to reduce concentrated poverty and upgrade the urban environment.
