Band 7 IELTS Answer

The diagram depicts a product's life cycle and its environmental impacts: it presents how this process affects the environment.

The product's life cycle encompasses seven steps: it initiates with the planning and design of a product, proceeds to production; then delivery takes place – culminating in recycling, which marks the beginning of a new cycle. Many environmental issues may accompany these steps.

The initiation of a cycle involves planning and designing the product, potentially the most crucial step in supplying new products that meet customer needs. In this phase, we meticulously estimate the requisite material and energy resources for production. This calculating aid ensures no material or resources are wasted: factories manufacture the product, package it, and distribute it to shops and markets. However--these steps can potentially harm the environment; they may result in emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances during production. Following this, suppliers sell the product to customers who incorporate it into their lives. Ultimately, customers provide feedback to enhance future productions. They dispose of certain old products; however, they recycle others and transform them into materials for the second step in subsequent cycles.
