Model Answer 1

Crime is always a hindrance to developing cities and countries. We have witnessed crime and the violation of rules over the ages. The more crimes were committed, the more we were able to learn about them and solve them. We have progressed and the advancement of technology has helped to solve crimes.

Technology has improved and so the rate of solving crimes. Forensic scientists use different technological tools and systems to get to the criminal. Brutal acts like murder and rape can be accurately solved using blood samples, fingerprints, skin patches, or hair and dental samples. Previously it was dicey and there was no solid proof based on which decision could be taken. Now, with the advancement of technology, courts and judges can rely on DAN samples, proof from the forensic team to make their decision. The use of CCTV, mobile records, and locations can be used to solve complicated cases also. The police department can store the profile of the criminals in computers rather than on file. They can use the face recognition software to get help and identify a criminal. It not only allows the judge to sort out the highly complicated cases but also helps to reopen the past cases and pass a legitimate verdict. Nonetheless, the advancement of technology has also led to an increase in the variety of crimes. For example, in the past, cases of cybercrimes were not available. But now, they are on the rise. More criminals have learned the use of technology and they are using technology to commit a crime. However, the police and the investigators get a lot of help from technology in solving any crime.

Model Answer 2

The advancement of technology has definitely helped the authorities to solve the crimes in a faster and a more effective way. However, it is debatable if the crime rate has decreased due to the advancement of technology. Previously the crimes were being performed by the criminals without having the fear of getting caught. With the advancement of technology, digitalization of criminal records and investigation data, the detectives and police are able to track down suspects or criminals. The presence of tracking devices, as well as monitoring devices like CCTVs, Electronic Tagging, GPS tracker, have brought the rate of thefts under control.

Criminals are now aware that they are being monitored or being followed. Traffic cameras and CCTV have been placed on every corner of the roads. This helps to track the criminals. The theft and loot that used to happen at night has now stopped due to the CCTV footage. The fear of getting caught has been embedded into the criminals. The common public has also become aware of technologies to prevent crimes. With the advancement of technology, cyber crime has also increased. Previously cyber crimes were nil but now, with technical advancement, criminals have also opted for cyber crimes. Physical crimes that were performed previously have decreased as compared to the previous decade. In my opinion, police and investigators have been successfully able to avert certain frauds, reduce crime rates and protect people with the help of advanced technology.

Model Answer 3

The crime rates have decreased by a certain amount since the advancements of technology. The police, investigators and authorities have been able to use technology and its advances to avert crimes. The government has planted CCTV cameras, motion sensors and night vision cameras all around cities. This has brought the number of crimes down by a huge margin. Criminals now know that they can be tracked and traced if they commit crimes. The advancement of technology has provided a bird's eye view of the whole city. The police and the investigators can use mobile networks to know the current location of the criminal. This can stop crime from happening. The forensic team uses various types of advanced tools and face recognition technologies to give a breakthrough to any crime committed. The fear of getting caught has developed in people which has reduced the number of crimes committed. We still see crimes being committed on a daily basis despite all the precautions and technological help. This will continue to prevail until and unless people understand this and change their mentality. Advanced technologies have helped reduce crime but it is still there. As per my opinion, the reduction rate is huge and this has happened only due to technology and its advancement.
