Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

The biggest problem humanity is facing is the unnatural growth and rise in the human population. There are multiple causes that might affect this. Some of them include the advancement of technology, increased income, or the lack of recreation of the people due to the heavy schedule. In this topic, we will discuss a few factors that help the growth of the population.

The life expectations of people have also increased due to the advancement of medical science. This has helped people to live longer resulting in more population. But in earlier days, people suffering from deadly diseases used to die due to a lack of medicine. Secondly, with the advancement of education, job facilities have increased. This further helps people to earn more. And more earnings means more capability to feed more mouths. Therefore they do not think twice before conceiving another child. Thus in this way also the population increases. This is slowly becoming a problem since the resources that mother Earth provides us is limited. Now, due to this increased population, our resources are depleting quickly, and it's not getting enough time to regenerate ourselves. The more the population, the more stomachs to fill in, the more space to give shelter, and the more thread for clothes. The growing population brings more demand for everything. The increasing population increases the demand for luxury goods. This will further lead to the death of our natural resources like coal, oil, plants, and also animals.

I believe this is the mother of all problems. if people can control the population, the usage of resources will decrease. This will lead to a healthier planet. If the population decreases, competition will decrease. This will also provide stability in people's life. To meet the demands of overpopulation, foods are produced unnaturally. This inturn affects our bodies and people fall sick early. it is a vicious cycle which can be stopped with a decrease in population.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

The world population has been increasing at an alarming rate, which is becoming the greatest problem in today's world. There are many reasons for this increase in the global population.

Firstly, the life expectancy of the present generation has increased, which allows them to live longer. It is seen in recent research, that people are long-lived now, mainly due to the advancement in medical fields. This advancement has made previously untreatable diseases into curable diseases. Moreover, the people of the present generation are highly educated, which offers them a good profession, and along with that, a good monthly income. Thus removing the financial problems which could have hindered the plan of bearing more children. Therefore, I totally agree with the view that overpopulation is of great concern for the present generation. People living in developing countries face problems regarding the shortage of resources, due to the unchecked use of resources by the increased population. That day is not very far when the resources will come to an end, and there will be nothing left for the next generation. People will starve due to a lack of food. There will be an increase in diseases, because of overcrowding in a place. There will be widespread airborne diseases, which will lead to a pandemic. Thus, in conclusion, there are numerous factors that lead to the increased population. The government must take appropriate policies in order to check the population, which can save our earth. The policies must be such that they can mitigate the negative impact that we get from the increased population. Government should not think about the number of votes which will increase with the increase in population, but must think of the deadly impact which the increased population can have on us and our future generations. There are certain steps that the government can take in order to control this increase in population. Among them, one can be the two-child norm, which says that a family cannot have more than 2 children. If any family has more than two children, then the earning member of that family will be sacked from his job and will be left with no alternatives. There can be many such policies that will stop this global population increase.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

The increased population has led to serious issues in our world. There are numerous factors that lead to this increased population, but policymakers must turn their heads to the impact of this increased population.

Human wants are unlimited that have to be satisfied with limited resources. They cannot be totally satisfied. Our earth is incapable of providing the amount of resources that must be needed to satisfy human wants. The increase in population is simply putting pressure on the already limited resources. There is the rampant cutting of trees, killing of animals for their hides, cleaning of forest areas for housing purposes, and clearing of agricultural fields for industrial purposes. All these are because of the increase in the number of mouths to be fed, the number of heads to be given shelter, the number of clothes to be given, and the number of demands to be satisfied. There are no places empty nowadays, no fields where children can play, and every place has been either out for building purposes or industrial purposes. People are killing resources in order to satisfy their wants. Due to this, our future generations are not left with many resources. Moreover, people nowadays have become very selfish, all they know is about themselves. They neither know to control their demands, nor do they think about others. In addition to this, in the present situation, the rate of unemployment is immensely high. The economy is unable to provide employment opportunities to the present population. The situation will get worse if the population continues to increase in this unchecked manner. There will be a day when there will be no food to feed on and no place to take shelter in, and people will die starving. The level of poverty will reach its summit. So, in order to reduce the pressure on the resources, the population has to decrease. These can only be done by taking correct policy measures. The government must immediately step in with some policies which can control the birth rate like the two-children policy, or increase the use of birth control measures or pills.
