Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am grateful and writing this letter to thank your manager at the Kolkata office for helping me find my luggage.

I was devastated when I lost my luggage on a bus last Sunday. I boarded the bus from Assam as I was coming back from a trip. I had my luggage with me. It had important documents like Aadhar cards, passports, and so many others. Once I got down to Kolkata, I could not find my bag. It was lost. I panicked and started searching but without any results.
I immediately contacted the manager at the Kolkata bus terminal. His name was harish and he was quite helpful. He patiently listened to my complaint and assured me that he would recover my bag along with the things. I was relieved because he sounded very hopeful. I gave my contact number, address, and the list of contents in my bag. I also gave him a description of the bag. After taking all the details, he assured me that if the bag was lost, he will find it.

I was very sad and did not have much confidence in getting my back. I got a call from Harish the next morning. To my surprise, he informed me that he had found the bag with all its contents. It was lost when the workers were unpacking all the other bags from the bus. he even apologized for the mishap. He was very polite and cordial. He even sent it to my address.

I am really thankful to Harish. I do believe that he should be rewarded for honesty and hard work. Please convey my thanks to Harish. I am sure he will be delighted.

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you that your manager is very efficient and helpful. His name is Thomas Stephen, he found my lost luggage along with important documents in it.
It happened last Friday when I was traveling from Mumbai to Delhi for an important business meeting. I was tired and didn’t realize that I got up from the bus without my luggage. Once I realized that I left my bag on your bus I immediately contacted your manager at the Delhi office. I mentioned that I had lost the required time for the meeting. The manager was very calm and thoughtful. He said he will bring me the bag without any hassle.
He sounded very confident and I was a little doubtful if I would be able to attend the meeting without the documents. But to my great surprise, the manager called me in the evening and told me that he had recovered my bag along with all the necessary documents. Later he asked me for my office address and mentioned that he would make sure to send the luggage there. The utmost professionalism of your employee is quite impressive. I think he is diligent enough to be rewarded.

Band 6.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to thank your manager who helped me find the things that I lost on the bus journey. I was traveling from Orissa to Kolkata.
It was an all-night journey. The bus journey was quite comfortable and I didn’t realize it when I fell asleep. In the morning when I got off the bus I suddenly realized that my engagement Ring is missing. It was very important to me as my husband gave it to me on our first marriage anniversary. I was very much paranoid and anxious and lost. I immediately contacted the manager at the Kolkata office. I made him understand that the rain is very important to me.
He was quite patient and efficient enough to hear me. He asked me for the description of the ring and he met me and made it sound like he would try to get it back. Honestly, I had lost all hopes as I believed such things would never come back. But to my absolute surprise, the manager called me the next morning and told me that he had found a ring. He said he recovered the ring and will send it to my residential address. I was deeply moved by his professionalism. Employees like him must be rewarded.
