Model Answer 1

Many people around the world have different views on whether parents or the internet have a greater influence on children. I believe that the influence of the internet is exceptional but that cannot be compared with the influence of parents. I do not agree with the fact that the internet has a greater influence on children than the parents. As per John Locke, the mind of a child is like a white paper or tabula rasa which is void of all characteristics. They interpret or mirror what they see. The children do not have anything on their minds when they are born. Parents and the surroundings start writing the traits which finally make a person. They see their parents as a source of all gratification. Children spend most of their days with their parents. Parents always try to mold them into the best possible version. Not only that, the children cry with them, laugh with them, and hug them while sleeping. These emotions will not come from the internet. Only parents will be able to share these emotions with their children. Children learn basic values, ideas, and patterns from their parents. Children stay with their parents and what they learn is always under their scrutiny. The parents control the behavior of their children. They are always instructed to do something and not do something. Children gain the knowledge of good and bad via their parents. The Internet might show things to children but the deciding trait comes from the parents. Hence, anything that children watch or do over the internet, is always under the scrutiny of their parents. It is true that kids get easy access to the internet nowadays but if the parents have taught their children well in the early stages. The influence will be there. Children will understand the difference between good and bad. This cannot be taught by the internet. I agree with the fact that the internet has a huge storage of knowledge but parents help children in shaping their behavior and becoming good people.

Model Answer 2

People have contrasting views on how television and the internet affect the behavior of children. Some think that parents have more influence and some think that television and the internet have more influence. There have been debates and studies all over the world regarding this. Whenever the parents get time, they try to spend it with their child. The kids see what the parents are doing and try to adapt to those behaviors. The children learn to talk, eat, sleep and do all the activities with the help of their parents. The parents can easily change the behavior of the children. I do believe that parents have an influence on children but they are most affected by the internet or television. In this modern world, most parents are working professionals. They have less time for their children. Everything has become online and the use of the internet is extensive. Hence, some behavior traits of children are affected by the internet and television. If a parent is not present with their children, they spend most of the time watching TV or something over the internet. They see new things and discover the undiscovered world. This produces curiosity in the children. They try to do things in the same way as they have seen over the internet. Suppose a child sees a nursery rhyme on TV. They try to enact the same steps and words that they see and hear on the television. The internet has lots of videos. Children watch those videos and try to do something that they are not supposed to do. There is an increasing number of TV programs and online games which are easily accessible to children. Some of them are even designed for youngsters. These shows will have an effect, no matter positive or negative, on children's attitudes toward the world. For example, children watching too many crime shows and programs might get influenced and commit something which is beyond their imagination. Parents need to control that and filter out what the kids are watching. I believe that parents and the internet both have equal influence on children nowadays.

Model Answer 3

There are two sides to any discussion and both have their points to prove. Some people think that the internet has more influence on children. Others think that parents have more effect on their kids. I believe the Internet as a technical invention has proven a boon for mankind. The Internet has blended into human life in such a way that it is not possible to live without it. Children attend classes over the net, they read and do their homework online. The Internet is a huge resource for children to learn new things and improve their knowledge. They can improve their skills, learn new things and apply the same in day-to-day life. However, with every good thing comes to some disadvantages. There are multiple TV shows and series available online. If the children have access to the television and the internet, it will be difficult for them to resist the urge to watch those. This influences their characters and individualism. Children get access to multiple games. They might spend more time playing games rather than studying or working on individual skills. This is where the parents come in. Parents work as remote controllers for the children. The parents have the power to control what the children are watching. They can filter the good things over the internet and show them to the children. Parents are the one who teaches the children about the good and the bad. They spend more time with the children and children try to imitate their parents. This influences their behavior more than the internet. Parents give warmth to the children and teach them which path to follow. If the child is not listening to what the parents are saying, the internet cannot solve the problem. Parents know how to handle their children and create an influence. I believe that television and the internet are required for children to learn new things and grow character. Parents need to control what they are watching and how they are behaving. The balance of both creates a good influence on the children
