Model Answer 1

What water body is that?

I would like to talk about a lake that is very important for the people in my hometown. It is known by the name of Rabindra Sarobar. It is a manmade lake in the heart of the city of joy, Calcutta. Since I was born and brought up here, this lake has many memories and holds a special place in my heart.

How do you know about it?

I came to know about this lake when I was in school. My friends and seniors used to visit there. They informed me about the lake and its beauty. The name also refers to the area surrounding the lake. It is flanked by Southern Avenue to the North, Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Road to the West, Dhakuria to the East and the Kolkata Suburban Railway tracks to the south.

Why does it impress you so much?

Painting was my passion and I went at different times of the day to capture the beauty of the lake on my canvas. Not only that, this lake serves as a home for many fishes and birds. There are trees around the lake and a huge park created. People go there to enjoy the morning and evening. Older generations do their morning walk and younger generations complete their daily sprint in the park. This lake serves as one of Kolkata's most popular places to relax is the lake and the area around it. Water covers 73 acres (300,000 m2), and the rest of the area is covered in shrubs and trees, some of which are more than 100 years old. 50 distinct species were identified through a 2012 partial tree census. Migratory birds come during winters. I have had many memories with friends and family on this lake.

Model Answer 2

What water body is that?

India is renowned for its scenic beauty and abundance of rivers. Today, I'm going to talk about the Ganga, the most important river that has always fascinated me. Since I stay in West Bengal, river Ganga plays a very important role.

How do you know about it?

I clearly recall the first time I learned about geography while I was in school. However, in geography class, I only acquired fundamental knowledge of Indian rivers. As I got older, electronic and mass media helped me learn more about it. Although I don't know a great deal about the Ganga River, I can still say that I know quite a bit about it.

Why does it impress you so much?

Glaciers transport it from the Himalayas to the Bengal River. According to what I found online, it gets water from rain during the monsoon season as well as from glaciers. It is quite impressive for a number of reasons, the first of which is that I was very impressed by its length. It is the longest river in the world, though I have no idea how long it is exactly. Ganga travels through many states of India. It even goes to Bangladesh by the name of Padma.

It provides a living for many people. This river's water is used by farmers for agriculture, and people also fish in it. It is regarded as sacred, and numerous Hindu festivals are held along its banks. Last but not least, it is well-known for its religious significance, particularly in Hinduism. I've heard that Indians believe that a single dip in the Ganga can cleanse them of all their sins. People worship river Ganga. The chants and prayers in the evening near Haridwar are world famous for its majestic views. Not only that, one feels different when these chants take place.

Model Answer 3

What water body is that?

My nation is blessed with a significant water supply thanks to the Himalayas. Numerous water bodies are available for distribution. One of those is important to my hometown. The Satluj River is located in India's Punjab state.

How do you know about it?

My father moved to the Punjabi city of Ropar when I was young. On the outskirts of Ropar City is the River Satluj. I first went there when I was five years old, and I no longer reside in Ropar. Nevertheless, whenever I go there, I spend some time on the riverbanks. Because it is a blessing for both locals and tourists, it impresses me.

Why does it impress you so much?

It is surrounded by a dam that supplies irrigation water and contributes to the production of electricity. In addition, many tourists come to this location for the chance to view migratory birds from around the world. People can unwind in the embrace of nature at a boat club near the river. I love it because of the peace and quiet near the river. I go to this location whenever I need a break from the bustle of the city and feel stressed. After visiting it, all of my worries are put to rest. People go beside the river for evening and morning walks. The calmness of the rivers surprises me. Not only that, people have found various spots where they go with their family to have a picnic in the winter. Additionally, frequent visits to this location have assisted me in broadening my social circle. I meet people from all walks of life whenever I go there. I will never forget the beautiful times I spent at the Satluj River.
