1. Question : Do you use sunglasses?

Answer : Yes, I do use them. In fact, I have got 3 pairs – each one for
different occasions. I have got two pairs from Fastrack and one from
Ray-Ban. The other day, I came across another groovy pair of glasses
online. I plan to buy it as well.

Do + Verb(first form): We can use the auxiliary verb “do” before the first

2. Question: Can you give some details about the pair of sunglasses you’ve got?

Answer: Sure. I have two pairs of medium-sized Fastrack sunglasses
with UV protection. First one has got a dark blue frame with a sling
attached to it. I prefer to wear it with dark outfits. The second
one looks funky with a frame color made up of various hues like pink,
yellow and light green. It was a limited edition online so I grabbed
it. I wear it for casual occasions. The third one is Ray-Ban Aviator
with a dark frame. I wear it rarely though.

UV protection: protection from harmful Ultra Violet rays from the Sun.

Sling: A chain or a thread strap attached to glasses and worn around
your head to prevent specs from falling.

Funky: Something unusual that attracts attention

manufacturing cycle only, usually to promote the chief brand.

Prefer + (to (first form) / Verb+ing): The verb “prefer” is usually
followed by a “to” + first form of the verb. However, one can use the
“ing” form of the verb as well after it, though it’s less common, e.g: I
prefer to read at home or I prefer reading at home.

3. Question: How often do you wear sunglasses ?

Answer: I am fond of wearing sunglasses as I feel they compliment my
appearance. I make it a point to wear one when I am out on a bright
sunny day as I am quite conscious of protecting my eyes from sun
glare. Moreover, I read online once that exposure to prolonged sun
glare can weaken one’s vision.

4. Question: Do you think people in your culture are very fond of wearing sunglasses ?

Answer: I am a middle-class urban Indian living in the Northern part of
India. And I feel that the educated middle-class is getting quite
health-conscious over the years hence, people of my social class,
especially young ones, have become quite aware of protecting their
eyes from bright sunlight. So, one can see most of the college-goers
wearing sunglasses or shades. I believe another reason for wearing
sunglasses is to make a fashion statement.

5. Question: Where do you buy your sunglasses from?

Answer: My friend and I used to visit optical retail stores just to
browse for sunglasses. However, I have bought all of my sunglasses
from online stores as I have got them at discounted prices. Once, I
also got a huge rebate on an online purchase. Though, it sounds more
reasonable to visit street-side stores and buy them as one does get a
chance to try them lest one buy a misfit one online.

Rebate: a part of money returned on the purchase of an item, usually
as a good-will gesture.
