Topic: Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. Do you agree or disagree?

Model Answer 1

Excessive intake of sugary items has now become a severe issue, clearly leading to dangerous illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer. To address this issue, some argue that the price of high-sugar meals and beverages should be greatly increased. This will make them less appealing among buyers and consumers. I completely agree with this viewpoint since it may ultimately resolve the situation.
Even though many processed meals and drinks have a high quantity of glucose, they are frequently quick, handy, and inexpensive. As a result, many individuals consume these sorts of items to save time and effort, which can lead to a variety of health issues such as obesity and diabetes. For example, according to several surveys, America has a disproportionately high number of obese individuals. Further, fast food and sweets, according to some experts, are the primary reasons. America is also the largest country with fast-food chains.
Most international corporations that create high sugar drinks, such as Coca-Cola, Sprite etc. Moreover, 7-Up, make certain that their products are far less expensive than other comparable drinks. If governments decide to put greater taxes on unhealthy food items, manufacturers will have to raise the prices of their products. As a result, consumers will be less likely to consume these sugary items and will gravitate more towards the healthier alternatives of such drinks. For example, instead of drinking bottles of aerated cold drinks, one might switch over to fresh fruit juices. Price increases will become a massive/major issue for businesses since they result in less profit. As a result, corporations may decide to make things with less sugar.
Often, the general population is unaware of the number of carbs included in the beverage they purchase. Since producers nowadays seek to find methods to label their goods as healthy even when they are not. Some juice stores, for example, market themselves as nutritious by emphasising the freshness of their goods. They never tell their clients, however, how much sugar is in one standard-size beverage, which may be exceedingly high for some things like grape juice.
In conclusion, increased sugar intake has become a significant concern in many countries as people's health issues have increased. One of the primary remedies to this situation would be to levy a greater charge on certain meals. This, I believe, will motivate individuals to pick healthier goods and firms to manufacture healthier foods.

Model Answer 2

Many people's health has suffered as a result of the increased intake of sugary foods and beverages. In this case, I somewhat agree with the premise that people should be driven to eat less sugar. Nevertheless, I feel that increasing the price of these items is not the only and most appropriate option.
Because many individuals may be opposed to inflating the cost of sugary foods, several different approaches can be taken to address this issue. One approach is for governments to regulate the quantity of sugar in fast food. In addition, canned foods are also to be regulated so that people may still enjoy these foods and drinks without ingesting too much sugar. Another strategy is to utilise advertising to educate people about the dangers of excessive sugar consumption. As a consequence, many individuals may recognize themselves and be more cautious while selecting and utilising convenience goods containing glucose.
Some believe that customers should have the option to choose. Therefore should not be penalised for preferring sugary items that are often more pleasant than others. Leading producers in the food and beverage sectors. On the other hand, we have been concentrating more and more on studies for new goods that include less sugar while yet tasting identical to the original items. Coca-Cola, for example, has released a few different varieties of coke, such as coke zero.
To resolve this concern, the government not only increased the price of sugar to persuade people to consume less of it. But also made it a subject of education. Every child in a school should be taught about the dangers of consuming too many glucose products. This will help to create a piece of information for the children so that they can avoid this. Recognition, in my opinion, should be a significant tool to improve customer behaviour.

Model Answer 3

Food obsession has had a huge impact on society in today's fast-paced environment. It is claimed that raising the price of sugar will lower consumption because it has a negative influence on people's health. Even if processed foods have a larger amount of sugar, I believe that raising the price is not the greatest strategy to reduce consumption.
On the one hand, sugar has become an indispensable component of everyone's existence. Every day, a person eats sugar, either directly or indirectly. It may be found in foods like bread and cookies. Raising the price of these sugary items will have a significant impact on the economy and lifestyle. Especially for those who eat to satisfy hunger and low-income families. These folks cannot afford to purchase the goods, which will result in famine. As a result, it influences their way of life.
Instead of raising the value of manufactured meals and beverages, individuals should first comprehend what they eat. This can be done by reviewing the substances added to the items as a preventative step. Governments or healthcare organisations might hold frequent awareness campaigns to inform the public about the reasons for high glucose levels. Further, teach them about their forefathers' eating habits. Because of their flavour, school-age youngsters nowadays choose processed meals. They can be educated about preservatives and their long-term effects. People who currently follow a diet plan can contact their nutritionists or dietitians to acquire a balanced schedule. For example, switching to brown bread instead of white bread or other healthy lifestyle options.
To summarise, raising the price of any product will not result in a healthier environment. In my opinion, every individual must take care of themselves and their families. This can be done by eating nutritional foods rather than chasing after the appearance and flavour of the items.
