Band 7 IELTS Essay

It is now fashionable to fly to an English-speaking sovereign to learn the language. Some people believe that living in the native country is the best way to learn English, but there are other options. I disagree with the statement because understanding the core and practising regularly are essential. We will continue to discuss this topic and present evidence to support my position.

Some argue that studying English in an English-speaking country is the best way to learn the language, but this is not the only way. Personally, I believe that studying in a native-speaking country is more beneficial for practising international languages with the proper accent. Furthermore, people can make friends with local native speakers and learn new vocabulary in everyday situations. English is the international language, with over 60 countries around the world using it as their official language. It is critical to communicate with other foreigners in order to focus on the meaning and roots of languages. More practice and self-determination can help you improve your English skills. To learn English from native lecturers and staff, foreign students should travel to an English-speaking country and take a short course. While English is not the primary language in some countries, it is taught in every program of fundamental learning, from elementary school to university. Furthermore, there are numerous platforms through which learners can study English, such as E-learning, speaking videos, and podcasts. However, if non-English users do not practise it correctly and consistently, the skill will not be developed. If they cannot afford to study abroad, for example, pre-sessional courses, they can still study through an online platform. In conclusion, studying English with native speakers would provide a more correct accent and show the proper pattern to use. Foreign users can, however, learn at home via an online or digital platform if they are financially restricted or live in a remote area.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

People believe that studying English in an English-speaking environment is the best way to learn a language, but this is not the case. This is an idea with which I completely agree. Living in a language-speaking country would be the best way to learn that language. However, not everyone can muster the courage to travel to another country.

First, living in a foreign country allows you to learn their language, which is essential for survival in another country. By learning what they are doing every day, their accent, expressions, and culture, you will greatly improve your language skills. For example, one of my cousins visited Japan two years ago and, despite knowing very little Japanese, studied with a friend who assisted her greatly during her stay. And now she can communicate in Japanese like a native speaker.

Despite today's advanced technology, it is necessary to be present in the native region in order to fully understand English. A language is more than just learning alphabets, grammar, and words. it should provide the ability to read, write, speak, and understand without hesitation. For example, my sister lives in India and has been studying English since she was a child. Even though she has had exposure her entire life, she is unable to complete the aforementioned tasks because she has no idea how grammar and idioms work. Furthermore, many non-native speakers can understand it but cannot speak it fluently. They have difficulty communicating their ideas to others. It will be easier for them to improve quickly if they live in a country where English is the primary language, as one practice is better than a hundred theories. In other words, until I moved to the United States, I struggled to learn it fluently. Within six months, I realized what I had been missing while in India. To summarize, even though there are numerous ways to learn English, learning from the source is superior. This demonstrates the adage, "Experience is the best teacher."
