Public transport is a means of shared transportation that is readily available and affordable for the general public. It regularly works on the fixed schedule, runs on the fixed routes, and charges a fee for each journey. Some examples of public transportation are buses, auto- rickshaws, passenger trains, local buses, metro, trams, taxi services, etc. The aim of this system is to provide easy transportation services, avoid the traffic jams, and reduce the pollution.

The ease with which people can move around freely is all thanks to public transport. There are many families who cannot afford their personal vehicles, so public transportation provides them with flexible and affordable services. It provides services to everyone regardless of their ages including families, business professionals, students, old aged people, etc. It helps to save money as it is a cheaper option than the private vehicles. People who own their private vehicles, still prefer to travel through the public transportation to avoid the traffic jams, parking issues. It will greatly help to reduce the pollution, reduce the effect of the greenhouse gasses, and make our environment clean and clear.

As we can see that there are many advantages of using public transportation, but it is also important to improve its state. It is the duty of the citizens to keep the public transport clean, safe and comfortable. Public should not dump the trash in the buses, or railway stations. Find a dustbin present nearby and dispose of the trash in it. Higher authorities should ensure that dustbins should be present everywhere in public places. Strict rules and regulations should be framed for the people who litter or spit openly in public vehicles. People should spread awareness based on the state of public transportation and how we can improve it for its better use.

Everytime you go for a ride, you’ll observe different vehicles carrying a group of people in it. Such vehicles serve as the public transportation of a city or any locality. Everyone has the equal rights to use these public transportation facilities. At the same time, it is capable of carrying a group of people from one city to another or from one area to another within a city. It includes local buses, metro trains, auto- rickshaws, taxis, trolley buses, trams, passenger trains, etc. it is basically managed by the private companies or by the government.

In the modern era, people look for simple and quick ways of traveling. They need an inexpensive and quick mode of transportation. So to fulfill their needs, they prefer to travel via public transport. Promoting the use of public transportation is a smart approach to minimize traffic jams, save energy, money, and time. Using public vehicles to travel to a common place instead of carrying one's own vehicles will help to reduce the number of vehicles on the road which results in reducing air pollution.

The use of public transportation provides a number of benefits. However, there are also limitations to every aspect. It might be uncomfortable and frustrating to travel if the vehicle is overloaded. Sometimes, it becomes very irritating to travel via public transport because it lacks hygiene and cleanliness. So, it is the duty of the citizens to maintain hygiene in the public transports. They should not litter openly and avoid disposing of the trash in the open. To avoid the overcrowding, the government and the private companies handling it should make the proper rules and regulations, fix the capacity of the vehicle, and charge the fine to the passenger who breaks the rules.

The availability of public transportation greatly influences the growth of the nation’s economy. Therefore, it is important to encourage the citizens to use public vehicles to travel, and awareness must be raised. Improvement in the safety and hygiene of the public transportation will result in less pollution, and reduce the accident rates.

Transportation has always been an important part of human life to travel from one place to another since ancient times. From just walking to using animals to travel to the time when vehicles are available, man has come a long way. In today’s world, most people choose to travel by their own vehicles due to which they face a lot of problems such as traffic jams, time wastage, frustration, increased air pollution, congested roads etc. Therefore to avoid such problems, Indians prefer to travel by public transports such as local buses, rickshaws, metro trains, etc.

The great part of the public transportation services follow predetermined schedules. Some road transportation vehicles such as private buses won’t start until it gets fully occupied, which means it runs on the full capacity basis. However, when time is an important factor, there are public transportation systems that offer shared cabs or taxis. The various public transportation modes are ligt rail, subways, streetcars, trolleys, vanpool services, taxis, cabs, ferries, water taxis, monorails, tramways, cable cars, buses, etc.

There are various benefits of public transportation. Some of them are economic benefits, social benefits, environmental benefits, reduces congestion, prevents global warming, reduces carbon footprints, improves health, benefits of aging population, increased mobility, safety, increase in social connections, etc. moreover, travel by public transportations allows you to chill out, take a nap during your journey, read books and enjoy the way you to rather than going through the stress and frustration of traveling on the congested roads and highways.

To convince more and more people to switch to public transportation, it is very important to improve the quality, hygiene, safety, and effectiveness of public vehicles. The promotion of public transport should be handled by the Government of India. Government Representatives should start using public transport to prove that doing so is not disgraceful.
